Resumo: Youth center is situated in a scenic city with a relatively small number of inhabitants (7.000), but with no less diverse and vaired population. The town is located cca. 45 minutes from Slovenian capital. To it, as well to other towns, public transport possibilities are well developed (train, bus transportation).

In the whole region, there is a lot of young people which meet the problem of migration to bigger cities because of study and work obligations. There are options of visiting movie theaters, swimming pools in summer time, public library. Related organisations are, as do we, organising concerts and diverse events, meant for entertainment and informing. Volunteer will be situated in the town. Municipality administration is ensuring us help with their own real estate with searching for the right apartment, so we do not expect any difficulties with situating the EVS volunteer. The apartment will have its own kitchen, bathroom. Youth workers and mentor will be availiable for any help or support with acommodation. After his or hers arrival, we will help opening a bank account for the volunteer. The rent for the apartment will be payed by us, directly to the owner. We are aware that financial flow is coming with delay, after shown consumption costs, so we will plan the project execution appropriately into our financial operations and will cover the costs by ourselves untill we recieve the resources.

A mentor will be assigned to the volunteer, who will first, togeter with the coordinator, take care for introducing him or her to the personel and the way of working inside the organisation, and graduate integration to the local comunity after.
Further on, the volunteer will get to know the comunity trough our projects and events, where, as mentioned before, from 10 to 30 people participate on projects of achieving informal knowledges, volunteer work and international cooperations, and from 30 to 650 on different sport, entertaining and cultural events, where the volunteer will cooperate on organisation and content level itself.

Perfil: Youth center is an organisation, which encourages active participation and integration of the young, among which we make no differences at all. Ethnic or religious origin, sexual orientation, political orientation, sex or the level of education do not matter at all. In the procedure of choosing a volunteer, we will consider the motivational letter as the most valuable one. In a smaller circle of people, connected to the EVS project in our organisation (director, EVS coordinator, potential mentors), we will choose a volunteer, based on their interest of working on our activities. The EVS choosing procedure will at all times be open and clear. In the network base of EVS volunteers (ex. Youthnetworks), we will publish a new vacancy. When the procedure of choosing the volunteers narrows to only one, we will contact the volunteer and his or hers organisation (phone, e-mail, skype etc.) a few times, with the intention of describing our town, our organisation and the work, the volunteer will cope with here. We consider this part very important and we will continue contacting the volunteer, untill we are completly sure he or she understands all the aspects of his future vacancy. We expect the partner organisation to be loyal to their mission as a sending organisation, seriousness, responsiveness, motivatated to work and keeping touch with our organisation and with their volunteer as well. Especially in the beginning, we wish to cooperate with an organisation which already has EVS experiences and perhaps also similar interests and activities, but it is not necessary.

While choosing a volunteer, we will look on:
- interest in exploring and creativity,
- wish to learn, gaining and upgrading knowledges, experience and skills,
- willingness to forward already conquered knowledges, experience and skills.
- age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: Youth center offers a wide range of activities. For example from the field of informal learning, to cultural and artistic events and projects, spare time activities, voluntary work, informing, counselling and everything comes all the way to international projects. The EVS volunteer will be, as some of our current volunteers are, included into events preparation as: a photographer, camerman, technician, animator, coordinator, etc., he or she will also be taking care of documenting events, its promotion, techicallity preparations (small sound systems, computers, DJ), work coordination, helping with the creative workshops, animating children and youth, distribution of promo material, preparing the scenes for events, helping with designing the facility itself (painting, colouring, assembling). The EVS volunteer will have the possibility to suggest and help improve already existing projects or to make his or hers own project come to life, which would be encouraged the most. His or hers impressions would be written in a blog (an internet diary) and would also arrange the photo and video gallery on our web page.

We will offer participation on different national and local informal seminars, workshops from diverse fields (the ones the volunteer is interested in), with intention of him or her to recieve new knowledges. We will also try to include the volunteer into other activities which take place in our town, support the volunteer at planning his or hers spare time activities and at getting to know the slovenian culture.

Visitors and the personel of the Youth center are going to be affected by the EVS volunteer in means of encouraging the use of english language, learning about foreign cultures, accepting diversities. The young will be encouraged to participate in our activities and everything together puts our organisation on a new level and gives it a certain extra value. The EVS volunteer will also be helping a local student club, where he or she will include into their activities, the volunteers will also present their culture and countries from where they come from, to local high schools and grammar schools. The volunteer will be encouraged to develop and execute his or hers personal project. Besides that, he or she will play a hugh role in promoting the EVS programm itself. Trough different activities and missions, the volunteer will strenghten the social and basic competences, communication in foreign languages and communicational skills, team work abillities, autonomy and responsability, intercultural experience and knowledge.

A mentor will be assigned to the volunteer, the first mentor will be our volunteer Maja Drobne, who took part as an EVS in France in 2010. That is also the reason why she knows a lot about the programm and about the difficulties volunteers cope with, during their stay. She will be responsible for following the volunteers progress in reaching key learning objectives, will also provide personal support, offer a slovenian language class (2 hours a week) - during the whole period of hosting an EVS volunteer.

Before the work actually beginns, we will talk to the volunteer about his or hers wishes and interests, which will help us to set his or hers tasks. Voluntary work will be held for 5 days a week and 6 hours a day.

On Mondays and Tuesdays (from 9am to 3pm), the volunteer will be present in the office of the Youth center, where he or she will:
- editing and archiving,
- write a blog about his or hers experiences,
- publishing news, photographies and videos on our website,
- distribute promotional material on the terrain,
- help prepare our events,
- have regular meetings with mentor and the coordinator.
Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (from 2pm to 8pm), the volunteer will be present in the daily center of MCZoS, where he or she will have regular assignments as a youth worker-informator and also:
- helping to organise and execute our club programm, which also includes preparing and executing different events, concerts, theme evenings,
- animation of the youngsters (creative workshops, sports, learning assistance, different social games)
- photographing and filming events,
- helping to arrange our facillity (painting, colouring)

In case of bigger events, changes in the working time will be possible, but those won't affect on the excess of prescribed 30 hours a week. While working, there will always be a person present to provide any kind of help, whether it is the EVS coordinator, mentor or a youth worker.

Our organisation is included into the local enviroment with our own programm (informing, cultural events, workshops etc.) and projects, which open subjects as employability of young people, youth politics and youth work.
