Resumo: Outline the project environment for the suggested voluntary Service, including the local community where the project will take place (e.g. geographical, social and economical environment). If the host placement is located in a live-in community, please include the rules and conditions that apply also for the volunteer.

The future activities will take place in the city and some others neighbouring localities. Town is placed in the western part of Romania, at the intersection of some important national and international traffic highways. The River crosses it from east to the west. The Municipality has a rich cultural and historical patrimony. It offers to the visitors a real out-door museum of the architectural styles specific to the XVIII, XIX and XX centuries, art and historical monuments, theatre performances, philharmonic orchestra concerts, plastic art exhibitions, history museum exhibitions, art and sciences of the nature, festivals and feasts.

The architecture lovers can admire buildings erected in baroque, renaissance, eclectic, classic, neo-gothic and secession style, and the most well known monuments of architecture being mentioned below: Total population (2002): 172.824 inhabitants out of which 82.6 % are Romanians, 12,9 % Hungarians, 1.7 % gypsy, 1.3 % Germans, 0.3 % Serbians, 0.2 % Slovakians, Bulgarians: 0,15%, other 0,85%.

Climate - continental-moderate, with slight Mediterranean influences.

The town has a multi-ethnic and multi confessional character. We have Orthodox church here, in two communities Romanian and Serbian, Catholic church, Reformat church, Lutheran church, Mosaic religion. We have also neo Protestants churches. Here we have two well-known universities, with more than 10 000 students the city offers great leisure opportunities to its inhabitants and visitors. In the summer time the best place to be in the city, a kind of swimming pool, a recreational area situated in the very heart of the city. We also had projects in some small villages in the County.

The provisioned EVS projects to be implemented will be hosted in the city. The volunteers will be hosted, and the main activities will be implemented in the urban area. Some of the activities could be held in neighboring localities where the organisation or its partners develop activities.

Perfil: Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: the activities in which the volunteers could be involved and the activities the volunteers could create in your organisation. Please give examples of typical activities/tasks for the volunteers.

The volunteers will be involved in non-formal activities focused on children and youth in order to raise the quality of the programs provided by the organization to our target groups.
The volunteers we’ll have the opportunity to learn from their international volunteering experience and we are committed to facilitate a proper non-formal educational context.

The learning framework for volunteers will be designed based on the Framework of the 8 Key Competences, and we’ll offer also a proper space for reflection on their learning experience.
The volunteers will be able to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes for their personal and professional development into an intercultural context.

In creating the design of the stages we’ll insist on the learning dimension and offering to the volunteers the possibility to gain competences after their involvement.
