Resumo: Youth centre is located in the same building where kindergarden is, next too Family support centre, where works social workers, psihologist and also there is free time centre for 7 till 13 years old children. In youth centre there is small kitchen area for cooking activities, wardrobe, we have computures, sound sistem, working place for youth workers, table teniss, novuss, lot of different games, materials for creative activieties. There is one big room where bigest part of activities are happening and one smaller room, where youngsters can rest and where we putt big materials, games, music instruments etc. In the same building is located NGO `Latvian safe the children`.

Project will take place in a village, which is located between two bigger towns. There are about 3000 inhabitants. It is a small village, located in a beautiful place, which is a part of the National park (including the river, forests, sand cliffs etc.). There is one kindergarten, elementary school, library, cultural centre; there are also few shops (book shop, convenience store, clothing stores, one gift store and some grocery stores). It takes about 20 minutes by bus to go to the closest towns. There is also a train station and it takes about 2 hours by train to go to the capital.

The village was formed in the soviet times, when there was built a brick factory; about half of population is Russians. In the elementary school are about 200 pupils, in kindergarden-180 children. There is an amateur theatre, folk dance group, and women`s vocal ensemble in cultural centre. There is a very active the Salvation Army group and Methodist Church working. In the village are two NGOs-`Save the children` and `Latvian Rheumatics Association`, and women`s club. There is Support Centre for young mothers.

Closest town is about 12 km from the village. In the city live about 12 000 people. There is a historical, more than 800 years beautiful Old town with a medieval castle ruins and museum-a very popular tourist destination in Latvia, in winter very popular is mountain skiing complex close to the town. The city is known as a pearl of the region-a centre of culture and tourism. There are several small pubs, three night clubs, and few sport clubs.

Other city rather close the village, where live about 30 000 inhabitants. There is University, a big public library, a lot of shops, including shopping centre, places for entertainment, professional theatre supported by state etc.

Perfil: Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The youth centre offers to volunteer a personal learning environment and process, possibilities to meet, work with and learn from different people-as different nationalities, traditions, experiences etc.; to develop social and life skills, participate in a diverse activities organized in the youth centre, and realize their own ideas organising activities and events. Volunteer in the youth centre will work with different youngsters-Latvian and Russian youth, youngsters with social background. The volunteer will learn about culture and traditions, youth work, social inclusion, participate in creative activities, also learn to plan and organise projects, activities, events and festivals like children and youth art festival. The role of volunteer in the youth centre-to be as an assistant of youth worker, support-team member together with youth workers in planning, organizing, implementing activities. To help to prepare and conduct entertaining and educational activities-workshops.

The volunteer would have space and time for his/her own initiatives and ideas, supported by youth workers.
