Resumo: Outline the project environment for the suggested voluntary Service, including the local community where the project will take place (e.g. geographical, social and economical environment). If the host placement is located in a live-in community, please include the rules and conditions that apply also for the volunteer.

The host organization is location big city in the South part of Romania that has a population around 300.000 citizens. From this average, around 2% are Roma people. Regarding the religion, the majority of the population is Christian Orthodox and also a small community of Catholics and also a very small one of Muslims. According to the statistics from 2011 our city is the third in Romania concerning the unemployment rate that, of course, will decrease the life standard and economic situation of people living here. The working main fields are: commercial, educational, medical, small industries and few of them entrepreneurs. So, also the work palette offers is restricted, in this way the entire economy being not developed properly, comparing with smaller and richer cities of Romania.

Direct conclusion of economic problems is social situation. There in the community are situations and acts of discrimination and racism, based mostly of social exclusion of Roma people. This is amplified by local and national media who have excessively presented negative events related to Roma people. So far very few have developed programs to combat discrimination, racism and social exclusion. Also the local community is not aware of the importance of volunteering in the community and we can observe even a reticence in the involvement in this kind of activities. EVS volunteers will serve as an example of active citizenship for the society, an example of doing things for the others.

Regarding the main institutions, here are all types of institutions, a lot of them being public institutions that need help for the community. So, for sure, the EVS volunteers can improve a lot of situations in the city, mostly through the good example given to people.

Tarefas: - Promotion and organization of sports
- Organization of sports events in the community impact: running, basketball, etc. Sport competition on the street
- Promotion of sport in the community
- Organizing sports playgrounds in parks
