Resumo: "Junda works with youth aged from 3 to 25 by involving them in interest education within after school activities. The main objective of the organization is to create possibilities for youth to develop healthy physically and mentally, be active and develop free, democratic social life. Approximately 1600 youngsters take part in our studies, workshops and clubs monthly. Junda’s activities are always well attended and the creative atmosphere is all over the place – starting from handicraft studious in day to day work and continuing with all creative group achievements locally and internationally.

Junda offers following programs:
• Technical creation (wood, glass, technical modeling);
• Cultural education (music/vocal studious, folk dance, fashion/modern dance, fashion design, leather work, ceramics, Latvian language hobby group, circle workshops for preschool children);
• Environment education programs (floristic, interior design and environment education club);
• Youth opportunities (society „Kovārnis” and Youth Information Point);
• Montessori and interest education course for children with special needs;
• Youth summer and leisure camps.
Besides the schedule children and young adults involve themselves in different town, state and international events – exhibitions, concerts, actions, competitions and festivals, e.g. Junda’s annually organized events like Christmas concert, Benefice’s or National folk dance groups` performances, youth health activities for Jelgava’s citizens, and many more.
Special attention is paid to children from orphanages, from families at social risk and ethnical minorities.

Junda as an organization has an offer of vast amount of activities for the development of a child’s personality, it is much opened environment, that youngsters can release their creativity in. We provide a possibility to get involved in musical, dance, handicraft, technical or other art activities, provided within the youth centre."

Perfil: Required skills: • Ability to speak and communicate in English; • Motivating and openminded personality. Preffered (not obligatory) skills: • Previous experience in organizing activities for children; • Knowledge of Russian; • Entertaining abilities and possibility to teach something interesting/special.

Tarefas: Role of the volunteer: • Assistance in various youth centre activities (educational courses and events); • Creation/initiation of interesting projects and youth activities for youngsters of the centre; • Cultural activity conduction for youngsters of the centre; • Assistance in the summer camp.
