Resumo: The host organization carries its activities . The population is about 155.6 thousand people. The people account for 82.1 of the total number of residents . Moldovans, Russians, Ukrainians, Bulgarians and Roma are represented by small local communities in various villages. The majority of the population prefers to speak Russian language. The city is situated in the southern part of the country. The territory consists of a developed network of roads.

Perfil: We are interested in volunteers who have a basic competence in English (or other relevant international languages such as Russian or German), self-starters and those that possess initiative, are open-minded and prepared for challenges. In order to have a positive experience, it is very important for the volunteer to bring a lot of initiative and motivation to her or his participation in activities with kids. She should be open minded about different areas of work. The selection procedure will be a part of work of Miras-Moldova with our involvement. The age limit for volunteers is not so important, It's most important that the volunteer had a desire to work with kids. The volunteers are informed via internet and direct discussions about all the conditions of their stay in Moldova. The candidates are selected by means of an open call for volunteers where everyone can participate regardless of their political, religious views and regardless of their gender; however we try to make a balanced gender group of volunteers. By thorough study of the motivation letters and CVs of the volunteers and as well as by conducting direct interviews via Skype or phone by a responsible person in Miras-Moldova(our contact point in EVS) we attempt to find the most appropriate candidates for the projects. It will not be possible in general to generate a job substitution situation as the volunteers will be doing activities not related in general to the administrative or any other field which is supporting the development and maintenance of any organisation.
Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The project Childhood is not a privilege in the organization gives volunteers a good opportunity for personal and professional growth. Staying in Moldova and immersing yourself in our culture is a nice chance to develop intercultural tolerance and competence, and to increase European awareness. Volunteers will be in permanent contact with local non-governmental leaders and the student community from the participating in the organisation of different activities such as public actions, events and fairs.

Our activities aim to: assist children in difficult situations and in need of special support and care, to draw attention to the socially vulnerable children, to provide children with love, and a family-type of care and support.

In the center children are working on building a personal and social life with the help of local counterparts. The volunteers will take part (under the social worker's supervision) in helping with homework, the school and evening program at the school. The volunteer must show imagination and resolve in these crucial moments against which the child rebels sometimes. S/he will also be present during the meals and during the different extra curricular activities (cultural, artistic or sports) within the group. These moments create privileged contacts with the children. We understand that some of volunteers will have no experience in working with kids and do not speak language. But the staff of the School and members will try to support in learning process of volunteer. To reach this goal the responsible staff in the School will organize:
- Meeting for volunteers on regular basis to discuss about their work, planning activities.
- Making personal plans for volunteers
- Show them the steps of activities, supporting in daily life for professional stuff, let them practice and create new ideas.
- To provide necessary support and materials during the project
