Resumo: The host organization is located in a village in north-west Slovakia, close to Poland and Czech Republic borders. The nearest town is about 20 km far, and the regional centre of the North Slovakia is about 35 km far from it. It has 2,700 inhabitants. It is the centre of the Valley which spreads along the river and includes other villages. The town is in a state of flux, it is constantly developing prosperous village. Everything, what we need, we can find in our village - a few shops, post office, bank, doctors, restaurants, hotel and another accommodation for tourists, schools , Roman- catholic church. The transport from the cities is provided by buses, it takes 30 min. from Cadca and about 1hour, and during work days the transport is quite good, however it is a bit worse during the weekend.

The representatives of the village are looking for all possibilities, which can be used to develop and improve the life conditions there. Our village is very succesfull in obtaining money from European grants and thanks to this fact it is very popular and much sought after its attractiveness, nice squares, Gallery with regularly vernissages, playgrounds, touristic paths and a view tower, new cycling path joining Slovakia and Poland and the natural environment that offers a lot of opportunities for another outdoor activities.

There are also some tourist attractions in the neighbourhood such as an open-air museum, a water dam, ski park, a village with typical Slovak folklore.

The host organization is situated in the centre. The organization is a public institution administered by the municipality. It works with children, youth and adults until 30 years of age. It cooperates with schools and other organizations which deal with the leisure time activities and informal education in neighbourhood.

Despite of the fact that our village is very nice and attractive and visited by many tourists especially during summer season,,it is too quiet place during the long winter. The young people are at schools in the near or far cities, they usually come home too late or only during the weekends and very often they prefere to meet with new friends from school and to stay in the cities. This fact sometime makes our work difficult.

Perfil: - motivated girl who wants to work mostly with children in their free time
-age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: Volunteer in the host organization will be our team-mate, who will be helpful in our work with children and youth and who will enrich our activities with new creative ideas, views and ways of work. She will be friend of us, of children and youth and on the other hand she will be young person who will need our help, understanding, support. Always there will be someone who will provide her, help with her work and tasks and with solving of personal problems .
She will participate in the work meetings of the host organization, where we will plan timetable of regular activities, irregular activities and volunteer will choose those ones, which will be suitable and attractive for her. She can prepare a part of activities and she should work with responsibility. Her duty will be to be on time.

The volunteer will be actively participating in all activities of our Centre. She will be given the opportunity to obtain another experience of youth work and voluntary service in neighbour villages, too. Through mentor there will be an active exchange of views between Slovak people and EVS volunteer. She can enrich activity of our Centre with her diverse background, culture, experience and skills and through these ones to bring a new perspective to our work.

The programme will be made by the youth worker, but the volunteer will also affect it by her own creative ideas. She can suggest, develop and try to realise new activities with our support. Every week we will take time to reflect on what was good, what is needed to improve, we together will try to find solutions of possible problems.

Horário: The work time of volunteers is 30-35 hours weekly, including language training.Five working days are normally followed by 2 free days of weekend, but sometime the free days are changed, in the case, if the irregular activity is realised during weekend.
The volunteers ussually start their activity at 10.00 a.m., about 12.30-13.00 they have lunch time and then they continue till 16.00 -16.30. p.m.
The volunteers have got right for 2 days off per month, it is possible to make agreement and to adapt the lenght of vacancy according to their needs and requests.
