Resumo: The project will take place in one of the largest city in the Czech Republic. It is an important industrial, commercial, cultural, and administrative center and is located close to the German borders which makes it perfect for travelling outside of the Czech Republic – to Germany to be specific using either railroad or bus transportation. The city is fairly close to other big cities.

The city itself has a very good infrastrucure. Bus, trolleybus and tram transportation is possible. Volunteers will acquire a year transportation pass valid in all of the above means of transport. Renting a scooter is an option too. There are many restaurants, theaters, cinemas, parks, sport centers and so on in the city.

Volunteers will work in our office. It’s a medium sized building with two stories. Each story has rooms dedicated to certain activities. One room has for example a furnace for ceramic products, another room holds small pets such as hamsters, guinea pigs, bunnies, turtles, newts, etc. Each story has an office. Volunteers will share an office with two colleagues. They will have their own desks with computers with the Internet. They will have a shower, a back yard with a BBQ grill and a kitchen at their disposal. They will have a chance to either cook or use a diner or a restaurant right next to our office. There is a supermarket nearby and there are vegetarian businesses in the area too.

Volunteers will live in an apartment near public transportation with the possibility of shopping for groceries in the area. The apartment has fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and the Internet connection. Volunteers will not share bedrooms, but kitchen, bathroom and living area will be shared with one or two other volunteers of a similar age.

Perfil: Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: Volunteers in our organization will especially learn how to work with children of all age as part of the leisure activity education and they will get to know a form of upbringing in the Czech Republic. They will also acquire secretarial skills – working with a computer and different software, a printer, a scanner or a copy machine, photo editing and web page editing.
Their work will consist mainly of direct interaction with children and youth during regular and occasional activities.

Volunteers will help up prepare events, quiding participants and taking part in creating the schedule and its evaluation. Specifically activities such as: exercise for children, film club, geocaching, dog training, cooking, theater, scooters, creative work, working with the children of ages 3 – 5, Halloween party, Christmas party etc. Volunteers will aslo help at the camps and with promotion. The latter will include creating, printing and distributing flyers.

Volunteers will work 5 days a week, 7 hours tops, usually Monday to Friday with flexible working hours 8 AM to 7 PM. Sometimes the events take place during the weekend and in such cases they would be able to take a day off\days off during a work week the following week.

Volunteers will be provided with a language course of at least two hours a week. The course will be in a form of an individual class and it will depend on the volunteers if they will want the tutor to come to our offices or vice versa. The language course will be included among work responsibilites as well as regular two hour meetings with the coordinator, which will take place one day a week. The point of meetings is open communication and planning.
