Resumo: Our work at the School is centered around giving support to children & young adults with mental and physical handicaps. Our kids are between 6 and 20 years of age. We support them according to their needs in our part-time and boarding school. EVS volunteers will spend most of their time with a specific, small class of the part-time school. Apart from this, volunteers have the opportunity to get to know other areas like speech-therapy, snoezelen or physiotherapy. Also, depending on the volunteer's interests there are lots of possibilities to try out and conduct own projects, of course, always supported by a professional member of our well-trained staff.

The School already has long experience as an EVS host. We are proud to have hosted volunteers from all over Europe in great, unforgettable projects during the past couple of years. Come and join our School EVS family!

Perfil: We are looking for volunteers who ...are able to live together with people from different cultural backgrounds (i.e. ability to sometimes question own habits and opinions, sometimes adaptation and teamwork. Our EVS volunteers will live and sometimes also work together in an international shared flat). ...are sociable and willing to actively integrate into the local community.

...have fun to work with disabled kids. ...are aware of the fact that the project is situated in a beautiful but rural setting and are ok with it. Some knowledge of German would be good but is not a must-have skill. German classes will be provided both in a public university class and private classes.
Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: our main task will be to accompany our professional staff for one school year in working with one specific class. Here, everyday work will include educational activities as well as giving individual support to our handicapped kids or young adults and help out where help is needed. Besides accompanying "your" class, you will be asked once a week to help out in our boarding school.

Here, your main tasks will be to organize and conduct leisure time activities and provide support in our kids’ everyday-life. This could be with shopping, cooking and personal hygiene. You will be supporting various school activities. This might be in the singing or swimming group, during activities like snoezeln, story reading and physiotherapy. The activities listed above describe the fixed framework of your EVS. However, if you have high interest in a special part of our work like pedagogical horseback-riding or speech-therapy, we will try our best to accommodate your wishes.
