Resumo: The volunteer’s activities will take place mostly in the district, but will be accomodated in neighborhood close to the city centre from where they have bus connection to the Daycare center, as well better opportunities for social life.

The Daycare center for children from street is located in the city, Macedonia. The location can be easily reached from the city centre with one of 3 local public or private bus lines which 2 of them runs approx every 7-10 minutes and it takes 20 minutes from the centre to get there.

Perfil: The volunteer that we would like to host in our Daycare center should love to work with children.
From the candidate will be expected willingness to work with Roma children on daily basis, to be open-minded, patient, flexible, and being motivated for intercultural learning. Previous experiences of working with children and/or young people would be considered to be important but not compulsory experience of the potential candidates.
Even if the candidate do not have the background in Psychology, Sociology, Pedagogy, Social work, either studies either work experience in some of these areas, or similar to the field of our work, we wouldn’t exclude anyone, meaning we know how big progress can make people if you work with them carefully, teach them, train them properly, give them the right instructions and motivate them.
Most important is the candidate to have strong motivation for learning, gaining experience and developing his/her skills in this area and we would be more than glad to give the opportunity to that person and make him/her specialist in this area as much as possible, as after 12 months of their work they will earn their Youth pass certificate and the EVS expertise even twice as our work is quite dynamic and the possibilities for development in our centre are really big and very flexible.
In order to ensure that we will choose the right candidates for the EVS placement, will be asked from all candidates to send their CV and motivation letter in English or other language that we understand, after receiving their documents will be arranged Skype interviews with the potential candidates and asking them to fill short questionnaire for their personality in order to have clearer picture of the person’s character, their motivation and responsibility. In the selection process we would also ask the sending organizations to provide short review of the candidate with special focus on the candidates’ previous voluntary/working experiences, personality and approach.
The promotion of the EVS placement will be done by posting open call for volunteers on our web site, as well on on-line groups and networks, and informing our cooperatives abroad to promote the project as well. After will follow the process of recruitment, selection, interviewing, communicating with the partners.
Every received application package will be considered and evaluated. Each person who applied will be contacted regarding the selection results.
Regarding the profile of sending organizations we would like to cooperate with sending organizations that have long term experiences in the EVS field and that are taking their responsibilities as EVS sending organization seriously (having on mind that EVS is open for any young person including young people without previous experiences for example with visa process or travelling and living abroad). When looking for the first interested candidates for EVS volunteers we would especially use our contacts from the previous years and approached organizations that we have already established cooperation.

The role of the volunteer is being part of the circle of learning which connects the children and the staff members of the organization so the learning cycle can be complete, as the main role of the volunteer is LEARNER and MOTIVATOR, and the children are automatically motivated when somebody cares about them, and they return the favour to the volunteer by fulfilling him/her with love and positive energy. And learner, as there is so much to learn from these children and from the work with these children, something that the volunteer will realize at the end of the project.
