Resumo: The Center it is focused in training activities in the social field and leasure time. It taught official degree
courses, monographic courses, etc. Destinated to young people, also another animation sociocultural activities’ and leasure time activities’ in the hole autonomous community.

Since 2000 it has an information and advice office for volunteer which claims to be the world benchmark of volunteering, a consulting characterized by its openness to any entity that is related to volunteerism, a flexible, fast, useful, and above all effective, value of free . Also from 2000 the Escola is Host entity, sending and coordinating EVS.

The youth center has a full and global offer of activities, which its main target is to educate in values through the leasure time to children and youngsters of the neighborhood, the city and closer areas. It has a great number of resources that obtained along the years: a play room, infant and youth library, computer room, sports fields, climbing wall, leasure time groups, football teams,…

Regular activities:
The volunteer will be integrated in the leasure time activities, that the center carry out in the city, for children and youth of the neighborhood: information and counseling to volunteer and youth office, loan or request of consultation materials, diffusion activities for the Youth in Action Programme, play room, library, crafts, leasure time groups for children and youngsters, magosto(chestnut feast), Christmas activities, carnival, Youth center's feasts, neighborhood's feast, urban camp, summer camp for children,…

Local Community:
The city council is located in this city main administrative and cultural center.

The city has aproximately 95.000 inhabitants, although this population can be almost double if we count the many students and workers from surroundings.
In the city there is the main University and one of the older of Spain, because of this the town is a young and dinamic city.
There are two official languages, gallego and Spanish, that they live in armony without any problem. Most of their inhabitants are bilingual.
The proximity of the sea implies that the weather in the city is nice and wet, typicall in the north west of Spain. The city counts with a long winter with many rain and a short summer with a very nice temperature.

The EVS volunteers will live in a flat, sharing it with other volunteers or students, in a single or double
room. Furthermore the flat provides all items necessary for living: a washing machine, blankets, iron,
dishes, etc.

Perfil: age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The main objetive to host a european volunteer is to promote the knowledge of Europe and of the programmes offered for youth, between youngsters.
Moreover we realize that is interesting to promote between european youngsters the knowledge and relationship with another diferent cultures that living in the same frame of convivence, Europa.
Finally we think that is very enriching to know diferent ways of working in the leasure time in the differents countries in Europe.
