Resumo: This will be the safe and daily workplace for the volunteers. There are 5 offices and a meeting room, and the volunteers will have their own assigned office space. They will live with a host family or in an apartment in the area. The host families will be accepted as such according to the organization standards.
Volunteers on special projects will also tour Norway, with an educational presentation offered to schools. This presentation is offered every high school in Norway, and the tour depends on schools accepting the offer. While on tour the volunteers will stay with families, with families related to the school they are visiting, or at hotels/hostels. The geographical, social and economic environment will therefore vary greatly.

Perfil: Valued qualifications are knowledge of international youth exchange, preferably, but not necessarily, with background as a student and volunteer. The profile of the volunteer will vary according to the activities planned. For the planning and arranging of workshops, school presentations and/or youth seminars public speaking skills and good communication with youth are highly valued. Volunteers wishing to assist in the recruitment and application process of host families and students should be able to work systematically. The ability to work both independently and in a team is valued, and so are good computer skills. Last, but not least is enthusiasm and willingness to learn!
Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The secretariat of the organization has great experience in having volunteers, and it is something we highly appreciate. The volunteers are given training and guidance, and are welcomed as an equal member of the secretariat. Their role in the organization will partly be to take part in the everyday work, especially the tasks related to the application process of students and host families. They will work in close cooperation with our staff, and will thereby be guided in specific tasks. They will also have opportunity to work with projects on their own, that contributes the promotion of the organization’s mission. They will also do activities that are related to their specific role as volunteers, activities that are also being done by our Norwegian volunteers in the greater organization.

The volunteers will have no costs during the stay, as board, lodging and transportation will be covered. They will receive pocket money on a monthly basis, and have cell phone expenses, work insurance and an intensive Norwegian language course covered.
The learning opportunities are great, and cover a wide range. The activities are anything from daily office work, statistics and data, designing and participating in projects, planning and facilitating youth gatherings and workshops to holding school presentations. The volunteers will partly work independently, only under guidance of the Secretary General or member of the staff. In addition the mentioned activities, there is room for the volunteers to initiate projects based on what type of work they enjoy, for example developing marketing material and the organization films/photos. The activities of the specific volunteer will vary according to the volunteer’s interests and skills, and will be open to change during the Service in line with the volunteer’s wishes. The learning potential is related to development of organizational and administrative skills, project management, presentational skills, time management and independence.

Examples of typical activities are: designing/holding presentations and workshops, assisting in the application process of host families and students, general office work, planning and leading gatherings for students before/during/after youth exchange.
