Resumo: The Association is based Strasburg and has two offices. This presence in the two departments of the Alsace region allows us to adapt our activities to the local specificities and needs. Nevertheless, for the Hosting of European volunteers, we would advantage the site of Erstein where is concentrated most of our activities.
The city it counts about 10.000 inhabitants. The City is well served by the public transportation (Bus, Trains), which links it up to the main cities of the region.
Erstein has access to various cultural, artistic and sports infrastructures:
• A cinema managed by the n erstein-cinéma association
• A TV channel, TV that broadcasts on local life, activities organized in the town and the surrounding hamlets and news about associations based in the town
• The gymnasium situated in the heart of the schools, offers a modern and exclusive infrastructure for all ages
• Museum
• house of the heritage and cultural information
You can also admire several natural sites and historic monuments:
• resurgence of the rivers
• Church
• the church contains a special clock
• Sugar Refinery
The volunteer will be accommodated in an apartment situated, where he/she will be able to take advantage of his/her free time to discover the social, cultural and artistic life. He/she will also be able to move easily over the region of Alsace and beyond, thanks to road and rail infrastructures that cross the City.
The apartment will be as close as possible to the working place, in order to reduce to the maximum the times of transportation.
For his/her food needs, the volunteer will have the freedom to manage its food budget. The city of Erstein has many shops and restaurants.
During the voluntary service, the volunteer will be brought to move on the whole regional territory.
Perfil: Age: 18 until 30 years old
Tarefas: Learning and training opportunities:
The volunteer will discover in our association, the sector of the socio-cultural animation. As a training organization, the association will propose to the volunteer to register to its various sessions of training in the arts and cultural fields and the voluntary sector. He/she will also have the opportunity to meet our European and local partners.
He/she will be able to discover different audiences and different animations (recreation, street animation, intergenerational meetings…); he/she may also participate in seminars or meetings. This will be in addition to the obligatory trainings of the EVS action.
The volunteer will have French lessons in a “Université Populaire” or within the association.
Mentoring:
The volunteer will be involved in the team of the association. He will be mentored by the projects manager and will be joined on the projects by other volunteers and employees according to the selected topics.
To facilitate his/her integration and empower his motivation, we’ll propose him/her to meet with persons outside the Association (ex: people who already lived an EVS experience or other European programmes), to exchange advices and share experiences.
