Resumo: The EVS volunteers will be hosted in a town it has a population of around 20,000. The two side of the village is set in truly pristine surroundings fringed with Palms with easy access to the beach using the local dirt roads. You can spot the occasional fish eagle or pelican feeding just onshore. As a coastal fishing village located on the Atlantic ocean, beach and creek fishing is highly recommended where you can expect to catch Captain fish, Barracuda, Butterfish or Catfish.

Set in the peaceful country of The Gambia in the rural village, Here you will arrive at a place which focuses to ensure that all who visit whether be a holiday makers or volunteers leave a positive impact on the local community and Gambia as a whole.

For sunbathing or beach fishing in beach offers peaceful surroundings. Further along the beach is the fish market with its brightly coloured African pirogues and women wading shoulder high ferrying local catches in baskets from the boats to the
smoking houses or the fresh fish market.

Between the main Village to the east coastal road and the Atlantic Ocean there is their few tropical palm forest of baobab trees and cashews with avariety of wildlife which is famous for wildlife watching. There is sacred holy sites
which are open for sight seeing.

For birdwatchers you can visit the local wildlife reserve which is a wetland located within the village. The local people of the community are also friendly and welcoming to visitors, The volunteers will be actively embedded in this multiethnic
and stimulating environment by exploiting the activities and the multicultural environment of the Village which will widen their horizons and give a unique experience about how life is a traditional local village, this will enable to think global
and act local.

Perfil: Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: We believe that volunteer will get a great chance to enjoy Gambia. Not only will they get a more authentic experience, but your service will benefits local people and the environment in the following way:
Build environmental and cultural awareness and respect for the local people Provide positive experiences for both volunteers and hosts Provide direct benefits for environmental conservation and positive attitude change among the youth folk

Condições: Accommodation: Volunteers will be living in a rented group apartment in the Gambia either around the coastal area or the Village at a close proximity to the project sites, which shall be a well furnished house with facilities such as bathrooms, toilet, kitchen, etc.

Food: Since volunteers will have a monthly allocation from EVS of 100 EURO to each to buy food and basic necessities. They will be given a choice to cook their own meals or the organization will assist them to cook

Local Transport: The volunteers will be provided bicycle for short distance and for far places they will be provided with group ticket.

Vaccinations Needed: Hepatitis A, Malaria, Typhoid, Yellow Fever, Hepatitis B, Rabies, Meningitis
(Meningococcal disease), and Routine vaccines: Make sure you are up-to-date
on routine vaccines before every trip. These vaccines include
measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine, varicella (chickenpox) vaccine, polio vaccine, and your yearly flu shot.
