Resumo: The school is located in down part of the city. Two floor building of the School consists of different parts: administration, classrooms with part for sleeping, rooms for development with special equipment and treatment block, where children have different kinds of procedures. Usually volunteers work in classrooms, but they can be asked to help during treatments or special lessons. There is also canteen in the school, where children have good quality meal. The volunteer has possibility to eat very cheap and good. There is always very warm and comfortable atmosphere in the school. It is clean everywhere, so the volunteer will use only clean clothes and shoes inside.

Around the school there is small territory with fence for walks outside with children. The volunteers also will go for walk with children there, so they have to have warm clothes for cold weather. There is possibility to use Internet in the school, if it is needed for the project or for urgent private needs.

Perfil: Volunteers will be selected with help and support of our "contact point for EVS". All the applications will be considered in selection process. The selection process involves a written CV, motivation letter and possibly of an interview. All the candidatures will be discussed by hosting organization and coordinating together to make final decision. Volunteer doesn't have to have any specific skills or knowledge for this project. Criteria for selection will include:
- motivation;
- readiness to learn Russian and to communicate in Russian;
- flexibility;
- openness;
- interpersonal skills;
- patience and warmth;
- wish to work with children with disabilities.

The most important criteria is strong motivation to do voluntary service and learn a lot from the project! Type of the Sending Organization could be any. We would prefer to have volunteer, strongly supported not only by us and coordinating organization, but also by Sending Organization.

Tarefas: Volunteers will acquire a range of knowledge, skills and experience including a much greater understanding of issues affecting disabled children. They will also gain improved interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of people, as well as specific skills (for example, volunteer will learn how to teach small children, how to deal with them, how to keep their attention for long time). They will have the chance to learn about Russian culture but also other European cultures and learn from people from different backgrounds. We hope volunteers will develop solidarity with disabled children. They will see the implications of disability and inequality related to it. We hope the volunteers will become active citizens by overcoming prejudice and learn to recognise it in others.

The projects aim to social rehabilitation and social inclusion of disabled children. The projects target on individual supervising of disabled child by EVS volunteer and training of basic social skills as well as mental development activities in this process. The second line of volunteer's activity is organizing of group meetings and making workshops for disabled children depending on skills and interests of volunteer (it can be musical, art of handcraft workshops).

Having a volunteer from abroad at the school, would add an international perspective to the children. Not many of the children in the school have had the opportunity to travel. The presence of a volunteer provides a window on the wider world, helping to break down cultural differences and cultural stereotypes both for volunteers and children.

The role of EVS volunteers is to also support the staff team in providing an active, involving and stimulating environment for children. Having volunteers will enable children to access the local community and social opportunities more easily in future. Helping children access spheres of the community that non-disabled people take for granted, helps disabled people to be more visible and active in their local community which challenges prejudices of local population.

The mentor organises monthly meeting with the volunteers as a group, facilitating discussions on disability / culture / and helping the volunteers reflect on what they have learnt for the youth pass.

Possible tasks for the volunteer in the projects are:
- to develop mental and social skills of children through their communication and common activities with volunteers;
- to provide children who can't leave home with opportunities to participate in social life and to communicate with the world;
- to help children with crafts and sport lessons;
- to organize creative workshops for children;

There are optional tasks for the volunteers. S/he can organize English clubs, games for the children, if the volunteer has enough knowledge. And also volunteer can be asked by the staff of organization to help to prepare materials for lessons, games, manuals etc. as well as to translate necessary information about organizations into English or volunteer's native languages to make that information available for international community (if the volunteer has skills to do it).
