Resumo: The host organization is located in north-western Lithuania near the lake. The population in the area at 2011 year amounted to 47.8 thousand. Youth constitutes 19% of the region’s residents. In a town live only 10% more young people than in a village.
In this region we have 185 non-governmental organizations. There are 19 formal youth organizations, 35 non-governmental organizations working with young people and about 20 informal youth organizations. Only 10% of young people are participating in organizations’, clubs’, informal groups’ activities, 3 % are participating in informal education institution activities. There are 4 higher education institutions, 3 gymnasiums, 10 secondary schools and 12 elementary schools, 4 supplementary education institutions and 1 professional education institution.

The youth centre is an institution of open work with young people, which is accessible to every young person. Here can come everyone, who does not know where and how to spend leisure time. For those, who have ideas and don’t know how to implement them, we give support; help to find people thinking the same, to find sponsors and etc.

Youth centre is located at the margin of the town, in the building of property of apartments. We have 2 rooms, which area are 100 square meters. The centre has separated entrance to the building and we do not have a direct connection with community of the building.

Perfil: Target group of the youth center is 14 - 21 year old people, acting according to their hobbies, sports activities (basketball, tennis, cycling, hiking), music (playing guitar, concerts, festival making). The larger part of the visitors are young guys, so we would like to volunteer a mail volunteer. It would help to restore gender equality (youth center employs 2 femailes).
Volunteers should be extremely sociable, can’t afraid building up contacts, conversations with strangers. It is also important to have teamwork skills. It would be good if volunteer have working with children and young people experience. We need creativity and initiative in all situations.

Priority would be for young man who is capable in communicating with "difficult" young people, is able to play and organize various sports games and who likes to hike, camp outdoors.
Youth Centre is open Tuesday to Friday from 14 to 20 hour and Saturday from 16 to 20 hour. Sunday and Monday – days off.
Volunteer would live in a rented apartment in the city.
Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The volunteer will help team to implement activities of the youth center. Working in a team a volunteer will assume responsibility for his workspace. Specific tasks will be allocated according to volunteers personal abilities and interests. He will be included in all activities.

Working with young people in various fields volunteer will get social and personal skills, group work skills, learn how to allocate his time, highlighting the priority activities, will get acquainted with our country's culture, customs, and traditions, will acquire the language and communications skills. Will learn to solve problems. We will also offer non-formal education seminars, intercultural learning, language learning activities.

Specific volunteer activities:
-contact person with young people at youth center;
-help the youth center staff with Center administration, care the premises;
-leisure offer for young people: workshops, music, thematic evenings, sports activities organizing in the gym and outdoors;
-eventful offers casual summer vacation: games tournaments, tours, trips, tours, camps;
- presentation of volunteers country, it can be a mini language lesson, presentation of youth popular music, traditional cooking, workshop, games, sharing his hobby, self-presentation.
Youth Center has space for music, we have sound equipment (drums,electric guitars and bass). Young bands start playing and they needed a person who can make music with them. This could be a specific volunteer activity.
We’ll give all the opportunities to implement volunteer’s activity, do our best to accompany and to initiate his ideas.
