Resumo: The host organization is located in the countryside. Our legal office is situated in via Po but our main office is located in a Campus where all the associations of the city are gathered: our neighbours are a sportive associations, a gym, a music school, an old games museums. It is a very vital place to work and to spend daily life.

We share our own house with Teater: there are two offices, a dining room, a conference room with a big table where all the decisions are taken, three bathrooms, and a special room, the “Sala”, the room to rehearse.

The city is a nice town where many schools, an hospital, lots of gyms and shops, a swimming pool, a cinema, a tiny theatre are located. The old city center has Roman origins and it is now a pedestrian area, which is crowded on Saturday afternoon.

The projects would allows EVS’ volunteers to know these areas and to travel among them during the XIV edition of the Festival. They would have the chance to get in touch with the territories, their inhabitants and all the association working there. They would also get the chance to be part of an intercultural project, dealing with international artists and with people working and living in the area and with audience that is following the festival and discovering the area evening after evening.

The project carries out its activities in this area, throughout the region, in collaboration with local governaments, public bodies and no profit organisations or voluntary’ organisations working in this area but also with national and international artists that are the main protagonists of Teatri.

Perfil: Our organisation doesn’t make any discrimination based on gender, religion, social and economic status, race, ethnic group, sexual orientation and language according to the policy that Eu promotes through this programme.

We are looking for both male and female volunteers who is really motivated to be part of a theatre festival that promote arts, landscapes and relations between people, audience and artists, administrations and inhabitants.

The volunteers will be hosted are with an interested in doing something new and different in an artistic and international context. We would appreciate open minded and tolerant people, interested in theatre, street theatre, art and in knowing a cultural event totally focused on the territory.
The volunteers will be chosen on the basis of their CV’s, motivation letters, contact between hosting and sending organisation and possibly using skype calls to talk directly with candidates.
We want to cooperate with a dinamic sending organisation involved in the Youth partecipation fields, with some interest in the cultural and art field, in order to create future collaboration and synergies that could follow at the end of the project.
The final selection of the candidates will be made by our staff as hosting organisation with the support of the EVS’ Office of the City Council Youth Department, that has been operating in this field from 10 years. This selection will be based on more detail research matching the volunteer skills and motivations with the project as also has proved.

During their service the volunteers will be hosted in a flat located in town in the same social context and environment that we already mentioned: the EVS’ volunteers come from different countries will live all together and they have common spaces to share with: this give them the chance to confront each other and to share their experience.

In any case the EVS’ volunteers will be autonomous in their social life beyond their service and we would aim to preserve their indipendency. The volunteers, living in a shared flat with other volunteers as mentioned before, will be in charge of the housekeeping and they share space/time with each others in the housekeeping.
On their arrival, EVS’ volunteers will be introduced to the organization activities and service. They will be given the necessary information in order to better understand the new context and their tasks. Moreover, to help integration into the local community, volunteers will be also informed about how to orient themselves in town and different opportunities of meeting other young people, socializing, participating into excursions, parties and other local events, etc.; they will be given useful numbers and oriented about their life, which is calm and safe. Most of the time the volunteers will work together with their Tutor. Over a period of times we are sure that the volunteers will request more independence and more responsible tasks and under the guidance of the their tutor, more responsible tasks will be given.
In the first period of the volunteers would be involved in some practical activities in order to give them the possibility to get in contact with the organization: for example they would collaborate in the preparation of boxes of brochures to be dinstributed in all municipalities that are part of the festival, but also to cooperate with the staff in the preparation of technical material or to look over the places where the festival will take place, in order to get in touch with the new territory before the beginning of the organization. In this way volunteers will have a first glance on festival materials (technical and advertising) and places but they could also enter in contact with the organization staff.

Moreover, volunteers will have the chance to cooperate side by side with the different person working for the organization: people in charge of lights and audio devices, people in charge of hospitality, people in charge of preparing theatrical spaces, people in charge of communication and relations with locals.
The EVS’ volunteers will have an active planning role and we will be pleased to receive external point of views, ideas and opinions that will be realized during the months of service as volunteers. There are many learning opportunities for the volunteers involved in the projects, mainly in terms of non-formal learning and also professional development, that could be summarized in different areas:
- technical competencies: according to their duties and motivations, volunteers have the chance to acquire a useful expertise also at a professional level, that can be useful in the future in different fields, such as the organisation and management of cultural and tourist events (festivals, exhibitions, expositions, concerts, etc), from the flyer preparation and press and web communication to welcoming artistis, from setting up a stage to making a light and audio plan, to get in contact with the audience and their request.
