Resumo: The host organization is registered and situated in a political, administrative, cultural and economic headquarter of the country where is the seat of the government, govermnet bodies and all ministries. With its population in the administrative area of close to 800 000 inhabitants it is one of the largest Croatian city. Larger metropolitan area count a little bit more than a million citizens. Many museums, cinemas, clubs and cultural centres can be found in the city and all year round the city hosts many festivals and cultural events. It is also the one of the biggest university city in Croatia with some 50 000 students.

Croatia is incredibly diverse country, especially for its relatively small size. There are different mindsets in people coming from the south or the north, from the cities or from rural areas. The country is heavily dependent on tourism especially during the summer, being one of the top destinations in Europe. There is a lot of agriculture and food production and the country is still well preserved, compared to the rest of the Europe.

The host organization is involved in the community of the city, especially in a community of young people. Apart from the international work, the organization is focused also on the local youth activites, and providing support for young people in the city and wider in implementing their ideas in the community. The volunteers are involved in running the youth activites, supporting the users and proposing activites for young people in the centre.

The whole process of the past 20 years of Croatian growth, both socially and economically, created a dynamic environment, where youth has now more options than ever before, and can increase their impact on other areas and target groups, by becoming active citizens and participants in the community. For this, the organization provides supportive learning environment, where young people are free to explore their options, their personal competences and influence and encouraged to implement and develop the most of their potential and knowledge into concrete, socially aware and constructive projects.

Volunteers will be introduced to the Croatian culture, its customs and basic language and will be asked to respect the laws and regulations of Republic of Croatia.

Perfil: In the organization we are open to host 4 young people in the age above 18 interested in the subject of youth work, personal and professional development, and community work. The advantage will be given to motivated young people, independently of any social, economic, national, religious, or any other background.
The recruitment will be done based on the received cv and motivational letter. With the volunteers who showed interest and motivation in the organization work, a skype meeting will be scheduled.

Based on the interview and showed interest and understanding of the organization activites and environment, the final candidates will be chosen for doing the voluntary service with the organization. There is no special experience required for the project, it is more important that the volunteers want to learn and improve their competences in the described areas.
We also encourage volunteers, if it is possible for them, to visit us, to catch a glimpse of the working environment and the atmosphere, and to get to know us.

Tarefas: The organization is a training and coaching organization specialized in finding excellence in one’s personal and professional life. We offer an opportunity for those volunteers who want to expend their competences in working with people, individually or in groups. The volunteers are given a space to create their own learning goals, while being supported in achieving the same. From volunteers we expect active participation in the project and willingness to learn.

The volunteers’ tasks are the following:

1. Youth activities, trainings and workshops. Volunteers will prepare, implement, and evaluate activities for young people in the local community; at the beginning given smaller tasks and graduatelly taking over more responsibilites. The competences they’ll acquire will be from the area of youth work, trainership, facilitation, coaching, program design, project coordination and event production.

2. Support in project result implementation in the local community. When coming back from international trainings or exchanges, young people are usally motivated to make a change and do something new in their local community and the volunteer’s taks will be to support young people in implementing the results of such projects in the local community. This way the volunteers will improve their competences in coaching of the groups and individuals.

3. Project management and coordination. Volunteers will be actively involved in other the organization projects, but they will be free to realize their own ideas from scratch, by using whatever opportunity is available around them and by finding opportunities by themselves. They will also be managing the tasks and the small teams while learning to take the initiative, to find a way from idea to realization, to motivate and to work in the teams.

4. Promotion and public relations. The volunteers will be actively promoting the intercultural learning, personal and professional development, Youth in Action program and the organization activites in the public events (such as the Ngo days, meetings of volunteers, meetings of young people etc.)

5. Support the staff of the organization in the everyday activites and assist in the maintainance of the office -
The usual working week of the volunteers will be rather structured; the working hours of the week will be set in advance and the day will usually start with a team meeting. During the week, some of the meetings, workshops, and events will be held in the evenings. Once a month there is a general working meeting of all staff and volunteers. In times of the youth activites, trainings, and international events there is usually more work to do, and the engagement of the volunteers is more intense.
Our usual activities are week-long trainings, where there is opportunity for volunteers to get engaged on many different levels. Some examples include youth exchanges with different topics, skills and competence-building trainings, seminars and lectures. In these activities, the volunteers will be included as part of the organizing team, taking some responsibility for the practical aspects of project management, evaluation and monitoring, as well as directly working with gorups as assistant facilitators and presenters. Also, motivated volunteers will be in charge of presenting the projects through media and social networks, finding creative ideas to promote projects and disseminate results and visibility of our organizations work, EVS and YIA programme.

The idea is to have the volunteers choose which area of the project or basic work of the organization they want to take over, such as working with people, media, organizing events, based on their preferences and competences, so that they have the opportunity to develop fully in certain area, as leaders for their specific field, with the coordination and support from other members of the team and staff.
