Resumo: The host organization develops its action through direct care to people with intellectual disabilities and their families in different centres and day care services, which directly involve volunteers offering support in:
- Education Centre (school) attending the students aged between 6 and 18 years with the possibility of expanding the training to 20 years, the aim is to develop the full potential and abilities of each student and support them so they can be the most independent as possible in their adult life.
- Occupational Centre: is for users aged between 20 and 50. This centre is a social service for People with intellectual disabilities whose priority is to achieve social integration and labour market through different workshops.
- Day Centre: is for people over 18 years with a big need in areas such as communication, self-care, home living, social skills, health and safety, functional classroom content, leisure, work ... The main objective is personal autonomy.
- Other services who involve volunteering:
Hydrotherapy service, support in the locker room.
Maintenance service and sports activities
Leisure service, accompanying users during weekdays and weekends, favouring the inclusion of users.
The organization works from January to December, except the holiday days and the month of August. The volunteer will collaborate 30/35 h. per week (including language course and mentor meetings), having two consecutive days off per week.
Volunteers will collaborate in the organization mainly in a morning shift but some days she/he will work in the afternoon and in the weekend activities probably will collaborate in the afternoon of night.
The volunteers will live in an apartment with other young European volunteers in the city provided by the coordinating organization.

ROLE OF VOLUNTEERS IN THE ORGANISATION
We will ask to the volunteers to follow and respect the codes and values of the institution responding to a shared vision of the world of people with intellectual disabilities and their relation to the world around them, whose purpose is to defend the rights of people with intellectual disabilities and their families.
The internal regulations, codes and values of the organization are:
Improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disability and quality of life for their families.
Getting people have lives worth living
Promoting the values of dignity, the value of the person, equal opportunities and integration into society.
They will follow the specific rules of volunteers in different activities such as individualized protocols to certain guys.
Specific regulations to include:
- Help all people with intellectual disabilities so everyone can express themselves freely, to talk about what they want or what they think, everyone can freely complain or disagree
- Respect the opinions of the PID (hereinafter people with intellectual disabilities)
- Meet individually with each PID and his family too
- Take into account the differences and characteristics of each person
- Reject the physical or psychological punishment
- Respect the right of privacy of the PID, especially when the person is not able to defend him o herself
- To maintain the confidentiality of personal data of the PID.
- Helping to make decisions, to make plans, and to choose in different situations.
- Promoting self-determination in the PID
- Consult with PID about everything that affects them (may be necessary to limit the right to decide, in case of endangering the PID or endangers another person.
- Decisions are taken according to their interests
- Inform the PID on actions to support and to improve their quality of life
- Respect the PID and take account of their wishes and opinions, age and social environment (never discriminate against a person because of their gender, ability, race, religion or opinion)
Encourage the PID to feel confident and accepted in society.
SUPPORTING ACTIVITIES PROPOSAL AND CREATION OF VOLUNTEERS:
GENERAL
Support, propose and create activities in the services provided by the Association in order to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities and their families.
SPECIFIC
- Support in different educational classrooms (music therapy, social skills ...)
- Support in the implementation of specific activities (Christmas materials, support activities, specific support in outputs / accompaniments to any specific activity ...)
- Support in different leather and carpentry workshops, workshop manipulated.
- Provision of support in the locker room in hydrotherapy pool in the 3 centers. The tasks users would accompaniments for your wardrobe, personal autonomy, development, care, grooming and dress.
- Escorts in leisure activities and free tempo scheduled throughout the year, taking place during the Saturday afternoons: excursions, retreats, educational outings, trips, parties, weekend outings.
- Support in Training to Families participating in the babysitter
- Any other support in relation to the activities and daily life of the Center.
- Collaborate, propose and create leisure and free time inside and outside the Centre on the occasion of festivals (carnivals, Christmas, New year, ...)
