Resumo: Helpful Hand Foundation runs the Accommodation-Rehabilitation House for mentally disabled people. The House is located in the outskirts of Warsaw with easy connection to the centre of the city. Warsaw, the capital of Poland, with numerous cinemas, theatres, museums and vibrant cultural life is a very attractive place for foreigners.The premises are situated in forest terrain. Within the area belonging to the House there are sport playgrounds and space for picnics and bonfires. In the building there are inter alia: study and recreation rooms, gyms, bedrooms, a kitchen and dinning room.

Perfil: We would like to host volunteers ready to work with mentally disabled adults. Some experience in working with such people would be an advantage. Volunteers must remember that this is a social project so they have to consider their responsibilities towards the residents of the host organisation.

Tarefas: "Volunteer's activities in this host organisation include:helping the people with everyday activities (getting dressed, washing oneself, preparing food), helping the therapists with running occupational therapies (education classes, art classes, sport classes, theatre classes, music classes, cooking classes) helping with ensuring safety during trips, cultural events, social meetings and other outdoor activities participating in everyday activities of the house such as helping to keep cleanliness and order in residents' rooms and common spaces of the house as well as in the surrounding area, gardening and simple manual work (painting, removing branches).Balltorp Youth Centre is in the area of Balltorp, which is relatively close to Mölndal’s city centre. Balltorp is an area of both people of different ages, cultural backgrounds as well as a strong interest for different kinds of sports, especially football. Unfortunately there is a lack of activities for girls. This will be the main task for the volunteer to address. He/she should try to attract more girls to the youth centre, for instance with the help of different kind of sport activities, also from a health point of view.
