Resumo: The Kameleon Association is open for the needs of local people. We co-operate with schools, kindergardens, and other institutions - public and non-governmental. Both the Association and Youth Centre-MDK are recognizable and popular among local community, which proves the high turnout at our lessons and events.

Perfil: We would like to host a volunteer who likes working with children, teenagers and young adults. The person must be open and flexible, creative and hard-working. This person should be able to work with a group of people as well as alone. People with artistic skills like music, art, theatre, photo are welcome but it is not a necessity.

Tarefas: The volunteer will be able to work in all three main areas: lessons, cultural events as well as in Youth Office of European Information. The volunteer will work with teachers during chosen lessons. The work will depend on the volunteer. He or she can help in lesson preparations (or implementation of the program) for example. The volunteer can also try his or her teaching abilities on his/her own and teach students. We offer many kind of lessons during which the volunteer can work with experienced teachers:We offer art lessons for youth who wont to study art in the future. We also have art lessons for children from primary school and for children at the age of 3 to 5. Lessons for the youngest participants are very interesting because of pedagogical approach and well chosen work to do - parents can work and play which their children, they are involved in the lessons.We have four theatre groups. One of them is for children from primary school, its name is "Maniek". There are also two theatres for youth. They are alternative. Their names are: "Poprzecznie pr¹¿kowani" and "Wielokropek". The last one is the street theatre "Fen-x", in which young people dance with fire, juggle balls, walk on stilts etc.We offer music lessons. Children and youth can learn to play keyboard. We have also vocal groups, which achieve many successes in the nationwide festivals. The names of groups are: "Metamorfoza" for youth and "Sposób na Nudê" for children at the age of 3 to 12. Vocal groups and art participants organize national festival of music and art - once a year. Every two years the vocal groups record their CD with their own songs. We have a very outstanding photo studio, where a volunteer can work with professional photographer. During lessons students learn many photo techniques, they use digital and analog camera, but they also know how to take a picture without a camera http://fotografia.boo.pl/?page_id=65&album=FotografiaBezKamerowa. The photo studio has their own darkroom.In MDK we have a very original place, where volunteer can take part in weaving workshop and then can work on the antique looms. The weaving is an important component of the history of our region. We also offer English lessons. A Volunteer who knows English can take part in these lessons as a teacher's assistant. If he/she doesn't know English, but would like to learn, he/she can participate in the lessons as a student.The volunteer can work in Kramadio newspaper. It's a newspaper for youth from Zgierz city. Due to the fact that the volunteer will work with teachers, he or she will learn how to work with students of different age. Contact with the teacher and participants of courses will also facilitate the learning of Polish language. The person will be able to do some artistic work himself or herself. The volunteer will help in organising cultural events for local people as well as for the whole country. He will be able to work with a group of people, promote and organize the events and later make evaluations. Thanks to these activities the volunteer will learn how to plan work when organizing cultural events. He or she will also learn how to work with a group of people and responsibility for his/her actions. The volunteer can work during many events, which are organized by Kameleon Association and Youth Centre MDK, for example: The nationwide festival of rock music ZDERZAK, The nationwide festival of music and art "M³odych Bajanie…", The regional preliminaries to the nationwide championships in the Mountain Bike and swimming "Family Cup". The volunteer will work in The Youth Office of European Information: in The Local Volunteer Center, where he or she will help in promotion of voluntary work in Eurodesk - The Local Information Office, where the volunteer will work on the Internet looking for different competitions and youth projects as well as help in European lessons about voluntary service. The volunteer can work in a promotion group of Youth Centre - MDK and Kameleon Association.
