Resumo: The town it is pleasantly small in size, a mere 95km by road from North to South. The town is within easy reach by all means of transportation, the nearest air hubs are the Bodensee-Airport Friedrichshafen and Zurich airport, but also Munich is close with an easy access.

German is the official language in Austria, but mostly people speak a German-Austrian dialect. A good portion of the population has basic knowledge in English.

The town's environment offers beautiful mountains, lakes and hiking trails in the summer and a number of famous winter sport resorts for all kind of sports. Due to the fantastic transport network in the town all those attractions are easily accessible for EVS volunteers.

For volunteers we provide housing facilities within the organization. All together at the organization there are 110 people working and living. 81 of these 110 have a light intellectual disability or some behaviour problems. 29 are workers with different educational backgrounds. They support and assist the people with the work that they do at the organization.

Accommodation: There are different options to accommodate the volunteers. One option is a small student residence. There the volunteers will have single rooms incl. bathroom. There is a shared kitchen and they have free internet access. This small student residence is located in Dornbirn, it’s around one hour with the public transport from the organization. Another option is a flat next to the organization. There the volunteers live together with other trainees. They will have single rooms with shared kitchen and bathroom.

Where the volunteers will stay will be decided by the organization. It depends on how much space there will be in the flat because of the trainees and on the current situation on the organization when the volunteers arrive.

Food: The volunteers will have some food money but will also eat in their Hosting Organisation. During the week when they work in their project they will have lunch with all the workers together in the café which belongs to the organization. There lunch is prepared every day from Monday till Friday. For the rest of the meals in the morning, evening, weekends and for free days the volunteers will get some food money transferred to their bank account. With that money they can buy their own food, cook for themselves and learn how to deal with a fix budget every month.

Perfil: The volunteers should be open to work with people with light intellectual disabilities and behaviour problems. They have to be interested in working in the areas agriculture, carpentry, plant nursery or gastronomy and farm shop. If the volunteers have a driving licence it would make things easier but this is not necessary.
When the Hosting Organisation looks for new volunteers it will work in close cooperation with the Coordinating Organisation. The Coordinating Organisation will promote the vacancies on platforms and with partners of previous projects. Applications are collected and sent to the Hosting Organisation which takes the final decision involving the team.

If the volunteers selected are still motivated and free to come to Austrian and do their EVS in the project, the Coordinating Organisation will apply on the following deadline to the Austrian NA.
After the application is approved the Coordinating Organisation will organise the journey and the stay of the volunteers together with the Hosting and Sending Organisation.
Hosting and Coordinating Organisation are prepared to work with any Sending Organisation.
Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: What you can offer to volunteers in terms of Service and learning opportunities:
In terms of Service and Learning Opportunities, the volunteers will have a varied role and therefore gain invaluable experience and skills for working with people with light intellectual disabilities and behaviour problems. On that course they will learn a lot about their ways of living as well as disability issues and issues facing the local community. They will also learn how to work along people with disabilities and how to increase their skills and promote their independence. Furthermore they will gain access to the work as a farmer, carpenter, gardener and gastronome.

What will be the role of EVS volunteers in the Host Organisation:
The role of the EVS volunteers will be to work along with our employees and people with light intellectual disabilities and behaviour problems, mainly in one of our four working areas (agriculture, carpentry, plant nursery or gastronomy + farm shop) or the housing facility. The volunteer will be encouraged and accompanied to support people to tackle a task for themselves, not to do things for them, in order for them to realize their potential and abilities.
As a volunteer your work will be guided by our professional employees. Also you will get the free space to create and implement your own ideas. We are welcoming new and creative ideas, which we believe add new perspectives to our organisation. Every volunteer will have the possibility to make his/her own project which is connected with his/her work. Apart from that it will also be possible that all volunteers together do a project connected with the hosting project.

The activities in which the volunteers could be involved and the activities the volunteers could create in your organisation. Please give examples of typical activities/tasks for the volunteers:
There are lots of different things to get involved with as a volunteer at the organization. Every working area has its own charm, learning possibilities and challenges. Independent from the working area the volunteer will be involved in the work and attendance of people with light intellectual disabilities and behaviour problems. That's the core area of the learning. Here is a summary of possible tasks:

Agriculture:
The work is characterized by mainly outdoor jobs and substantial work. Examples are mucking out the barn, intersperse hay, feeding the animals, maintaining work, and processing hay.

Plant nursery:
Also the work in our nursery plant is branded with substantial work and outdoor jobs. Examples for possible tasks are repotting, weeding and plant reproduction.

Carpentry:
The carpentry requires accurate work and craftsmanship. Making wood boxes, drilling, sanding and mounting are main tasks in our daily affairs.

Gastronomy and farm shop:
Customer contact and friendliness are key qualifications for this working area. Tasks include washing the dishes, cleaning, accept and deal with deliveries and so on.

Housing facility:
Supporting our residents with daily tasks, like doing one's laundry, ironing, cooking, cleaning… Depending on the needed scale of assistance more or less support will be necessary.

Support for the volunteers: The volunteers will be supported by different persons but will also have one main contact person in their project. In every working area there will be a person who is responsible for the volunteer and who will support him/her with his/her tasks. The volunteer can always ask and go to this person if he/she has some questions or doesn’t feel well with the task that he/she has to do. Then there is also one person who will support all the volunteers in general questions. This person will also be responsible for questions like accommodation, food, free days, and so on but will be also the contact person before arriving to the organization. There will be regular meetings with the volunteers where they can share and evaluate their experiences.
