Resumo: The volunteer will be working most of the time in and around our two youth centres in a small town.

Our association’s youth centres are places where young people (aged 12-20) can meet and spend their spare time together. We offer a wide range of activites, such as various games (darts, billard, table soccer, board games, computer games), creative workshops (painting, sculpturing, music, literature, handicrafts), sports (soccer, basketball, wintersports) and we organise different events (clubbings, concerts, poetry slams, skate contests) for young people on a non-commercial basis. The volunteer will have his/her own room in a flat or in a host familiy.

Perfil: We would like to invite young people who enjoy the work with youngsters. Also the person should have fun to help with outdoor and sports activities or in our workshops. He/she should be open minded and interested in getting to know our organisation and work. Interest in social work and young people is very important!
Since the target group in our youth centres is between 12 and 20 years we would prefer a person who is at least 20 years old.

Tarefas: In our organisation the volunteer will be seen as a temporary team member who supports us in our work. He/She will assist us in our work in the youth centres and will also participate in our mobile youth work programme (a form of streetwork). Another part of the job are different projects with focus on creativity, sports, education and cultural topics. The volunteer will be able to make his/her own projects, bringing in his/her very own talents. It is also possible for the volunteer to attend trainings and workshops regarding youth work, where he/she can refine his/her skills in social work.
*Working in a youth cafe: working behind the bar
*Supervising the youngsters
*playing games with the youngsters
*communicating and giving advice
*Mobile (street work): walking around the city meeting young people and talking to them informing
for the workshops and the special activities of the youth centre
*Special workshops : graffiti jam, Kino night, girls day,concerts, alternative cafe

Activities we currently provide:
Workshops:
Bandworkshop – learning to play instruments and forming a band
Arts – from painting to sculpturing we offer workshops with renowned local artists on a regular basis
Handicrafts – in our own workshop young people are able to refine their mechanical skills
Sports – we offer a weekly soccer training and regular outdoor activities
Job training for young people

Events:
We stage different social events such as concerts, clubbings for young people, poetry slams, skate contests and other sports events
