He/She will probably also have a bicycle at his/her disposal.
The volunteer will have the possibility to attend a German course organised by a professional training institution.

The team of the Hosting organisation and the “Junior Mentor” (a former EVS volunteer”) will help the volunteer to integrate into local community. The Coordinating Organisation aha will establish contacts among the volunteers.

He/she should be flexible and be willing to take part in different kinds of projects.

We are open to work with any Sending Organisation. The Coordinating Organisation will publish vacancies on various platforms and among partner organisations and together with them we will consider all the applications we get. The decision which candidate we host will be taken by the team and apart from exchange of written information on the volunteer and us there will probably also be talks on the telephone so that the future volunteer can get to know us better and vice versa
Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: In our organisations the volunteer will be seen as a temporary team member who supports us in our work. He/She will assist us in our work in the youth centres and will also participate in our mobile youth work programme (a form of streetwork). Another part of the project are different projects with focus on creativity, sports, education and cultural topics. The volunteer will be able to make his/her own projects, bringing in his/her very own talents. It is also possible for the volunteer to attend trainings and workshops regarding youth work, where he/she can refine his/her skills in social work.
*Working in a youth cafe: working behind the bar
*Supervising the youngsters
*playing games with the youngsters
*communicating and giving advice
*Mobile (street work): walking around the city meeting young people and talking to them informing
for the workshops and the special activities of the youth centre
*Special workshops : graffiti jam, Kino night, girls day, concerts, sport activities, outdoor activities, etc.

All the activities described above can be part of a “normal” week. For the volunteer it is special that he/she gains insights into two institutions and two teams. In regular team meetings activity schedules are disussed within the teams. The volunteer will have the chance to become active in different youth clubs which are based in the local communities.
The different kind of projects depend on the youngsters interests and the season.

Important information for volunteers:
The volunteer will be deployed in two youth work organisations in two different villages. Both villages border on each other and the organisations are working close together by setting similar goals and doing cooperative projects together. The volunteer will have a main contact person in each organisation and will take part at the coperate team meetings of both organisations. In those team meetings the youth workers and the volunteer will develop new projects, discuss about the next steps of currently running projects and who of the team members is responsible for the different project parts. The contact persons will have an eye on the fact that the volunteer gets a well arranged activity schedule.

Volunteer’s own project: If the volunteer wants he/she can realise his/her own project with the young people. Since we offer a wide variety of activities he/she has a lot of possibilities to do so (sports workshop, creative workshop, antiracism project, project on his/her home country, music workshop, cooking etc.). He/she will have all the support from the team that he/she needs.

Doing an EVS project with our institutians the volunteer will learn a lot about youth work and will get a practical insight into the various fields of youth work: leisure time activities, intercultural dialogue, employment, education + training in youth work. In the daily contact with the young people he/she will increase his/her social competences in establishing contacts and building relationships. Helping with projects or doing his/her own projects the volunteer will learn project management “by doing” and practice teamwork. He will get an insight into various youth cultures and will meet (young) people of different cultural origin.

Horário: Example for a possible schedule:
Tuesday: Team meeting; Streetwork; Weekly sports activities (winter indoor, summer outdoor)
Wednesday: Supervising youngsters in the youth club
Thurday: Supervising youngsters in the youth club
Weekend (not every weekend): Different activities/workshops. For example: Special girls activites (if volunteer is female), Movie night, Project work, Excursions, Outdoor Activities, …
