Resumo: Volunteers will work with intellectually disabled adult residents of the Accommodation-Rahabilitation House run by the Helping Hand Foundation. The House provides 24-hour care and various occupational therapies for them. The volunteers will be supporting therapists and care assistants in their everyday work. The House is located in the outskirts of Warsaw with easy connection to the centre of the city. The majority of 30 residents of the House are physically active people with moderate intellectual disabilities.

Perfil:

The vacancy is available only for female volunteers. We would like to host volunteers ready to work with intellectually disabled adults. Some experience in working with such people would be an advantage.

Tarefas: To help the residents with everyday activities (getting dressed, washing oneself, preparing food);to help the therapists with running occupational therapies (education classes, art classes, sport classes, theatre classes, music classes, cooking classes),to help with ensuring safety during trips, cultural events, social meetings and other outdoor activities,to participate in everyday activities of the house such as helping to keep cleanliness and order in residents' rooms and common spaces of the house as well as in the surrounding area, gardening and simple manual work (painting, removing branches).
