Resumo: The hosting organization is a non-governmental organization based in Denmark with cooperating partners in Europe and beyond. The primary aim of the organization is to provide impartial dialogue space and skills for youth and educators, with a special focus on areas of conflict, so that they can fully participate in the development processes of their societies. The organization is involved in international development projects in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. In addition to the international projects the organization carries out activities in Denmark including an international Global Studies course, public events and debates focusing on global issues such as climate change, coexistence and conflicts, workshops in High Schools and conferences for teachers focusing on high interest areas such as the Arab world and China.

The hosting organization will be hosting, sending and coordinating organization in this project. The hosting organization will host 6 long term volunteers at a time (commitment period 9 to 12 months). In addition the organization will be a sending organization. We will send 10 volunteers to our EVS partner organizations in and outside of Europe. In addition the hosting organization will be coordinating organization. We will be responsible for coordinating the project with our partners who have the role of sending organizations to this project.

Perfil: The desired EVS volunteers have a profile that describes him/her as a person who is responsible and open-minded, with a keen desire to gain new knowledge and skills, share experience, ideas and intercultural understanding, and be part of the team of the hosting organization. They should be curious and keen to learn more about a number of world issues - (1) conflicts around the world and methods for solving them, (2) environment, (3) human rights, (4) non formal education methods and education available to all, (5) social roles of youth in local and global societies, (6) media and its role in shaping world mind-sets.

The hosting organization is open to people from different social and ethnic groups, as well as people with fewer opportunities.
Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The volunteers that the organization is a sending organization for will be supported during their time of Service through regular online meetings. They will be able to contact us at any point of the project and we will make sure that the activities are going smooth and that the volunteers are receiving the expected outcomes.

The volunteers that will be hosted at the organization will be offered personal support through the mentor. The mentor will be responsible for introducing them to the culture and the general environment in the country. The organization will make sure that the volunteers are well integrated in the local community. We will help them to learn the language and we will introduce them to a number of different cultural related activities. This will aim to help them to feel welcome in Denmark. The volunteers will be assigned a mentor. Apart form her role to help them to integrate in the local society, she will be responsible for discussing the learning achievements with the volunteer during and at the end of the Activity. In addition, the volunteers can turn to the mentor in case of personal or professional problem that they face. In a professional aspect – The hosting organization will carefully design the tasks and the work related to the needs and skills of every individual volunteer. We will make sure that the tasks are challenging enough and yet in the specter of skills and knowledge of the volunteer. The project is designed to inspire the volunteers to learn and to develop new projects themselves. The organization will help the volunteers in their learning process through inspiring activities such as lectures and talks. The volunteers will receive professional mentoring related to their area of interest and will be closely supported and observed during the EVS experience. If some of the tasks or areas of responsibilities does not fit with the profile of the volunteer we will address the issue immediately and we will create a new task division that will be more suitable.
