Resumo: The organizatio is located in the heart of the city and has about 10 000 inhabitants of which 5000 are living in the central. All of the city is a living cultural environment, which you will see when you come here. Old traditions are kept alive and one is proud of the heritage. In the city there are deep forests, wide stone walls, windling country roads and calm lakes, inviting you to adventure, drama and wellbeing. In the town you will get the opportunity to ride a bike in the footstep of the famous author, the trail begins in the city and takes you along village roads through the countryside. You will ride through places, where you can visit the childhood school.
The trail continues through several well-known villages, before finishing in the city. You will also have the opportunity to paddle canoe or go fishing in one of the many lakes around the city. After you have been out in the nature around the town and you have become hungry you can visit one of many restaurants or coffee places that are located in the city or just relax and read a book at the local library. If you are looking for some more activity, we can also recommend a visit to Entertainment house in the city that offers bowling, Go-cart racing, golf and boule, all under one roof. In the summer you can also experience the pop festival. A festival with the artists in the meadows and woods, No backstage area, no crowd control barriers, just a wonderful festive atmosphere!
In the city you are also going to be close to the Kingdom of Crystal. This is one of Swedens main attractions, which attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. It is unique and has no equivalent in the world. A fascinating spectacle in the smellties where dexterous glassblowers mould glowing masses into leaf-thin wine glasses and colourful, scintillating art. The world?s most beautiful glass in exhibits and glassworks museum. During the 60-ies and 70-ies it was full of life and creativity in Boda. This is where they started Boda Smida, Boda Trä and Boda Nova. But above all they refinded molten glass into unique new forms with the help of legends. At the same place, where so much creativity thrived, is The Glass Factory - one of the largest glass museum. A glass collection, comprising 30 000 unique art glass objects from the 1700s until today. It is Sweden's only dedicated museum of glass. The ambition of The Glass Factory is to create a modern, different and interesting glass museum with its own glass studio, where experiments and the visitor experience is central. The museum can be found about 15 km from the urban and is an old glassworks society. Here they have for many decades created glass of both famous and lesser-known artists. There are about. 300 people in the community. In addition to the Museum can be found here including.
Getting to and from the town is very easy, By train, bus, car or plane. You can take the train to Kalmar (30 min) or to Copenhagen (3,5 hour) or Stockholm (4 hour). From the airport in Kalmar you can reach Stockholm in only 50 min.The volunteer will live in an apartment on their own or together with other volunteers. The volunteer will be given a monthly allowance for food and personal necessities. The volunteer can borrow a bike to get to and from the project, and will be given a monthly card for public transport if necessary. In the beginning of the project we will fill up the volunteer´s fridge. We will also pay for internet during the EVS. The volunteer will come to a fully furnitured apartment.
Perfil: We are looking for a very motivated volunteer who have got an interest in environment question and sustainable future. The volunteers have to be interested in learning and to help out to educate and also to meet and help new people. You have to be flexible because one day is not like the other. The volunteer has to like to live in a small town. We are going to recruit our volunteers thruu the database EVSworks and the European database. The coordinating organisation Kumulus also has a lot of contact in Europe that they will use to spread the information about our project. To find our "right" volunteer will be thruu reading their motivation letters - why they want to come to our project. We want to get a motivates youth that understand the life in a small town and that likes this project. There are going to be one supervisor from Glass factory, youth center and the organization that together choose the volunteer. We are going to have contact with the coordinating org, Kumulus before we recruit to have a dialouge.

Tarefas: Our environmental activity is unique and we wish to share it with others. Our concern is for the global environment and we are anxious to show how we contribute on a small scale. Conserving resources is an important part of our work. The volunteer is going to have the opportunity to learn everything there is to know about recycling and how to take care of things that people do not want anymore.In the mechanical and bicycle repair shop- bicycles are repaired, as well as lawn mowers, chain saws, snow ploughs etc. which are then sold. In the electronics department television sets, telephones, vacuum cleaners, computers, CD players are repaired and sold. There are also have spare parts to be sold. We also have a department for paper re-cycling and a section where soft plastics, boxes, and corrugated paper is compressed before being re-cycled. We also accept hard plastics, glass, and metals which we send for re-cycling.
In order for a volunteer to have the best possible experience here we offer work practice at a recreational after school facility in the municipality. The purpose is to establish contacts with our young people and with youth culture and to introduce them to recycling and environmental work. The volunteer are going to have the opportunity to rune his or her own project connected to environmental work and the youth centre. The Glass Factory provides a knowledge center where the history gives perspective to the present, participation in the creative community for collaboration, participation, and experimental processes. Here you will participate in an experience-based, interactive glass museum with a quality assured business, located in the Kingdom of Crystal. The museum acts as a focal point and creative meeting place for artists, designers and visitors.
To increase the quality of our project, we will implement Youthpass in our work. We will use Youthpass both as a tool to make informal and non-formal learning of the volunteer clear during his/her stay in the project, and as a certificate of recognition of informal learning. Both co-workers at Kumulus has attended training in Youthpass arranged by the Swedish National Agency. The mentor will train the volunteer in the method and how to we use Youthpass, and we will document our volunteers learning process in a concrete way. The volunteer is going to get a central role in our project. We know that each volunteer that comes to us have new ideas an contribute a lot to the organization. The volunteer is going to participate in all the work that we are doing unless its dangerous and you need special education e,g handle toxic substance - this will done by our employee.
The main role is to be a link between the youth center and Möjligheternas Hus. The volunteer is going to have the possibility to have their own project together with the youth of the youth center. Its important that the project is connected to the work at Möjligheternas Hus and to the recycling work.
The volunteer is going to be able to take an active part in all the work that is done at Möjligheternas Hus, youth center and GLAS museum. Most of the project time is on Möjligheternas Hus and here the volunteer is going to participate in the enviromental and recycling work. The volunteer is also going to take part in helping to educate people in how and why we need to recycle. The volunteer is going to be able to to do his or her own project on recycling and sustainable future together with the local youth centre. It`s important to connect the work at Möjligheternas Hus with the youth centre. One other part of the project is to work with people that need help to re-enter the labor market.
The volunteers are going to have their supervisor at the different projects. It's with the supervisor they are going to have the daily contact. If there are any problems their first contact will be with the supervisor. There are going to be different supervisors depending where they are: House of possibilites, The glas factory and the youth center. The volunteer will also having a mentor outside the job and education. The mentor?s role will be to help the volunteer with getting onto the Swedish society and to show the Swedish culture but also helps the volunteer in their spare time. There is also going to be a contact person at the coordinating organisation, Kumulus. If the volunteer feels that they can´t salve problems or that they can´t talk with their supervisor they always have the contact at Kumulus.

It`s important to connect the work at Möjligheternas Hus with the youth centre. One other part of the project is to work with people that need help to re-enter the labor market.

Attend and learn how the production of artistic glass becomes even process this. Participate in the reception of visitors in the museum. Learn how the ideas of creation of the museum were and why the municipality has chosen one experience museum. Participate in the work of the museum led by an supervisor. The volunteer will be working 35 h a week including language training and supervision. Most of the work will be during Monday to Friday evening but sometimes also on weekends when there are some special arrangements. From time to time the volunteer will be asked to help to promote EVS in the region and be linked to the coordinated organisation Kumulus work of spreading information about EVS. This project is going to be devided in three different lines. First line is the organization where the volunteer is going to spend 4 months, other line is the youth center where the volunteer also is going to spend about 4 months. The last line depending when the volunteer is arriving to the projects is at the Glass factory. Here the volunteer also is going to spend each friday thruu the project. This because the volunteer will get the experience of a activ producion of glass. Most of guest designers and guest are coming and gpong thruu the year and the same with the exhibitions so this will be a very learning period.
The organization is a company that demonstrates the municipalities’ good ambitions to take responsibility but also empower citizens to take responsibly for their consumption and life in society. Through the activities in The glass Factory we want the volunteers to get a knowledge of the glass mills history and a community impact of such production. The municipality recycles and also takes responsibility of the glass and it’s history. Instead of letting a city die and decay the municipality has brought life into this. It’s important for the volunteer to gain an understanding of the improvements made over time about what affects our environment and natural negative. By the increased knowledge of the environment and approved work with production we have made the environment friendly. This is linked to the work at the Hop and the volunteer can get an overview of the environmental work that the municipality does.
The organization has the main responsibility of the volunteer during the EVS project. The volunteer is going to start his/her work at the Hop where he/she is going to receive all practical and theoretical knowledge about the project. During her/his first period in the project at the Hop the volunteers is also going to have Swedish education each day.
At the second part of the project time the volunteers are going to spend at the youth center and also continue go to the language training. But the deferens in this second part is that the volunteers are also going to spend each Friday at the Glass Factory. The main responsibility is still the Hop but the volunteers are going to have a contact person at the Glass Factory during their stay at the project. The volunteer is going to have their transportation to the Glass Factory by their contact person each Friday. It’s important that the volunteer has a good contact to their contact person at the Glass Factory but the main responsibility is still the Hops.
