Resumo: The project will take place in a small community with a 3,000 inhabitants.

The activity will be mainly developed in the Youth Center and also cooperate in the Cultural House and kindergarten. The town also has a primary and secondary school with around 450 students. The cultural house promotes theatre events, dance and concerts. There's also a big sport facilities with renew basketball court, skate park and open air gym.

The town has good connection with Rakvere by bus and also gathers young people coming from villages nearby. The volunteer will act in the whole community gathering the Youth Center, Cultural House and Kindergarten in a way to promote participation and positive attitude in the city, as it's a small community.

Perfil: Volunteer should have good communication skills, s/he should want to work with young people and to be ready to work in a small community.
Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: Future volunteer will have the opportunity to work with young people who live in a rural area and come from different social background. We include the volunteer into our daily activities which enable him/her to organise different workshops with the youth workers of the centre, also to become a participant in trainings in which our own youth workers participate. As the volunteer will work closely with local children she/he is in a very good position in finding out what the children long for and thus initiate her/his own project ideas. She/he is also welcome to cooperate with other institutions in the town. Through his/her service volunteer will become more familiar with the social and cultural background of the community. The volunteer will act as an ambassador in the community connecting the institutions and developing activities.

Main role of the volunteer will be assisting local youth worker and youth center's manager in their daily activities and support the Culture House and Kindergarten. In the youth center the volunteer will contribute to the drawing, table games, social theatre and handy craft workshops. Youth Center is also used by local Youth Council whose activities the future volunteer can participate.

The Culture House is the organizer for major events in the parish where the international volunteer's insight and his/her cultural background will be a great asset in organizing new events which will enliven the community life. The Culture House has various after school activities - guitar and drum lessons, folk dance workshops, singing lessons - in which the volunteer can use his/her creative skills. Volunteer is also invited to give language and culture lessons at the Gymnasium. In the Kindergarten the volunteer can contribute to sports and handicraft workshops.

The Youth Centre has organized the following events in witch the volunteer can participate: New Year Party, Table Game Turnaments (Alias, Eesti, Jalgpall, Euroopa, Mölkky jne), movienights, building snowcity, different theme-parties (Valentines-day, Christmas, Europe-day, Kadripäev, April-fools-day, Childrens-day (1. june), youth centres' birthday-party), adventure days outside the youth centre, an event to celebrate the beginning of school, orientation around the town, visiting other youth centres in the area, theme-days including sexual-health, AIDS, healthy eating, prevention, different fairs collaborating school and students, cooking nights and cake-fairs, documental-film nights collaborating Cinema, table-football tournaments, billiard-tournaments. From the spring of 2011 we have the possibility to use the sports ground, stadium and the outdoor-gym for planning different sportevents. Also the Youth Council has its meetings and events in the Youth Centre.

The volunteer will live in the community and have the opportunity to use all the facilities in the village when necessary.

Horário: The volunteer will work 7 hours per day and the schedule will depend of the activities in the Youth Center and in other institutions.

This is a practical example of the volunteer weekly schedule:
Monday: Morning in Kindergarten assisting the teachers; afternoon in Youth Cente with craft classes (glass, knitting, wood and metal)
Tuesday: Morning in school with the free-time activities for students and presentations; afternoon in Youth Center in computer classes or language lesson.
Wednesday: Morning in kindergarten playing with the children and assisting the teacher in the daily activities; afternoon in the Youth Center in the art classes with drawing and painting.
Thursday: Morning in school to help homework school in the afternoon in the Youth Center with cooking lessons and table games.
Friday: Support the Cultural House in the organisation of local events in Folk Dance or Band contests
Saturday and Sunday: Free
