We are looking for volunteers to work at our 3 centres.
The children’s centre with 35 children with cognitive/developmental and multiple disability,
the centre for adults with 47 persons between 18 and 50 years of age.
The centre for adults with 13 adults with cognitive/developmental and multiple disability.
Activities at the day care centre are meant to support and empower different abilities (physical, cognitive, communicative, social and everyday skills) of the client to increase his or her ability to cope and participate in everyday life to the fullest extent possible. Maleva and Pae centre provides similar activities for the adult clients. Children’s centre has a different program as they have day care combined with the basic school educational program (individual study plans). All centres are separated from each other geographically.
Perfil: Young person with creativity, ready to make activities for people with disabilities and with good English communication skills. Previous experience with mentally disabled people is taken in good consideration.

Tarefas: Volunteer will work as an assistant of social pedagogues with adult clients who have cognitive/developmental and multiple disability in the organization. There are different groups working at the centre which are managed by professional social pedagogues. In one group there is maximum 5-8 clients at the same time. Activities of the volunteers are connected with assisting the pedagogues of the groups. There is possibility for the volunteer also to show some initiative and express what they are particularly interested in the centre. Volunteers active and motivating attitude is highly appreciated.
Working as a volunteer in the organization with disabled adults and children is good learning opportunity for the young people. Through the work they will get very good experience in the disability field. Work with people with disabilities may be emotionally challenging in the beginning without any previous experience, but it also gives a lot for the volunteer in terms of personal development and reviewing the values in life. Volunteer will get good understanding of the Estonian social system. Volunteers creativity and communication skills will develop strongly as volunteers need to find different and creative ways how to get contact with the clients of the centre, as none of the clients speaks English, and most of them have difficulties to communicate verbally in general.
