Resumo: EVS project will take place mainly in Estonia.
Volunteer will be very welcome among the staff of the Kindergarten and she/he will work as assistant to teachers.

Our mission is to provide necessary skills for children entering to schools. We support families by promoting value education and polite behaviour. Our extramural activities take into account children individuality.
Our future volunteer should be interested in working with children and in primary school education approaches. He/she should respect values promoted by our organisation.

Kindergarten offers breakfast and lunch in the morning shift and lunch and evening snack in the evening shift. Kindergarten does not organise accommodation to volunteers but we will support and help volunteers with problems that might occur when finding accommodation. All our teachers are helping the volunteers to get accustomed

Perfil: Young person with strong desire to work with small children, creative, proactive and communicative. Previous experience in working with kids (babysitting, practice, etc..) is a bonus.
Age:18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The Kindergarten offers everyday work experience with children, basic knowledge on pedagogy and gets practical examples on how to apply value education in every day situations. Volunteer will get the chance to be a team member in our daily activities as well as in organising Kindergartens' annual events alongside previously mentioned she/he will also learn Estonian in its natural environment. Overall we would like to share experiences on primary school education in Estonia and in volunteers' home country.

Volunteer’s role in our organisation is to become full member of our team. We wish to engage her/him actively into our daily work therefore to ensure interesting and educational experience for the volunteer. Volunteer will assist teachers in daily classes, accompany our groups in study visits and she/he will help to organise our traditional events. As international volunteer she/he already has an asset in the form of her/his different cultural background which volunteer can use to start her own ideas and workshops.

At the moment we have four different groups which are divided according to the age of children. : 3-4, 4-5, 5-6, 6-7. Preliminary working schedule foresee volunteer working in different groups according to either morning schedule (8am to 14am) or afternoon (1pm to 7pm). Volunteer will also help with outdoor activities and organise annual events with staff members. Weekly schedule is attached to the application.

Every day we have different activities with the children and the volunteers can participate in all of these activities. For example in physical education or music class we have different singing and dancing games in which volunteers can take part in. Volunteer helps teachers with simple tasks – helping to get children dressed to go outside, in art classes volunteers help hand out some art tools, like pencils, brushes, papers etc. Before parties volunteer decorates the hall with children and they can always give their opinions. If they have any good ideas for decorating the hall we help volunteers to accomplish their ideas.

During excursions and study trips volunteer will help teachers to organise these trips by watching over the children. Volunteers can also make photos during trips. Teachers help volunteers to introduce their culture and country.

Volunteer is not teacher substitute or teacher’s assistant, volunteer is doing activities, that completes our everyday work in kindergarten.
