Resumo: The hosting oganization is a charity which was created through the Welsh Governments’ Communities First anti-poverty programme. Building on the long history of community development in the community seeks to develop and deliver a range of different projects and activities to regenerate and improve the communities.

Perfil: Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The EVS volunteer will work closely with the hosting organization staff team to support a range of community development projects. In particular they will work closely with a trainee development worker, a new role aiming at up skilling a local person in community work. The role will involve supporting the engagement of local people on projects contributing to the three Communities First objectives of promoting health, learning and prosperity in the community. Working in partnership with local people and supporting community groups to take a lead on initiatives is central to our approach, and the EVS volunteer will work with a wide range of people including local residents, community groups, voluntary organisations and other agencies.

Throughout the EVS placement, the volunteer will have the chance to learn about different approaches to community development / youth work, and share ideas from their own experiences with the team. They will be able to join relevant training courses delivered by the organization and our partners during their placement.
