Resumo: The hosting organization is located in the middle of Hamburg and Berlin. To each city there is a distance of about 100 kilometres. The EVS-volunteer should take part in the project in a quite rural area. The town make offers in recreational activities like cinema, sports clubs, disco, swimming, restaurants and so on. In addition to it Pritzwalk informs in museums about the special history of east Germany and of the region. The economic system of the region is not very strong but they try to colonize the region with more Industrie and business. The nature is signed by agrculture and forests. There are many opportunities to make walking- and bicycle-tours. The “Mecklenburgische Seenplatte” gives a lot of opportunities to practice watersport.

Perfil: The volunteer should have an affinity to work with mentally disabled people should be reliable and above all able to communicate in german. He must also be aware that the organization is located in a quite rural area.

It is likely that applicants with “fewer opportunities” (socially/economically/geographically) can drop in their application.
We can`t accept addicts and physically and mentally disabled persons.
Female and male applicants will have equality of opportunity.

Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The volunteer will be included in a team of colleagues who care for mentally handicapped people. He will be attended by the team and by a special tutor.The organization makes offers in creation, in pottery, in musical therapy and in sports. The main task of the volunteer will beto take part in these recreational activities. He should also try to develop additional activities according to his personal interests and abilities.
The tasks of the volunteer are:
- Advance and support the mentally handicapped people by mastering of everyday life
- Formation of offers
- Motivation of mentally handicapped people to take part in recreational activities
- Advancement of communicate competences
- Support of the staff in their tasks
