Resumo: "A. Nidda lies in the east of the county district of Wetterau not far from the boundary to the county district of Vogelberg. to the east lies the county district of Main-Kienzig. to the West the county district of Giessen. Nidda and its seven distiricts has a population of 24,000 who in the main work in small workshops and commercial businesses. Three medium sized businesses are also based here. Our institution is in the district of Harb in a rural environment. The house nestles in a wood. Our institution lies remote from the town of Nidda. There is an infrequent bus to Nidda. From Nidda one can reach Giessen (35km) or Frankfurt am Main (65km) by train. The volunteer's mobility is important to us. For that reason a duty car is available for private journeys, when they are not needed for official business.
"

Perfil: We are open to participants from all countries in the programme. Special prior knowledge or inclinations are not necessary. It would be advantageous to be in possession of a driving licence as we occasionally allow the use of the official car for private journeys

Tarefas: "B. The volunteers are bound tightly into the team and take part in the team discussions. In addition there are regular meetings with the tutor. Educational opportunities partially during the course of the daily activities in which the volunteers take part and in part from the internal courses for our employees. However in the main it is the experience which working with our children offers. Each volunteer can take the important things which are applicable to him and apply it planning his future. Volunteers who have special skills or interests ( ie music or creativity) can deploy these under the direction of our specialists for smaller projects with the children. This means that these activities are continually evident in the youngsters day. We particulary wish to see activities which promote the independence of our youngsters as well as intercultural aspects. as our youngsters are generally at school in the mornings the main weight of care time falls in the afternoon and evening. The exceptions are holiday periods. Every now and again it may be necessary to assist one of our specialists in the morning by escorting a youngster to the doctor or local authority.
