Resumo: Deineta is defined primarily as EVS coordinator. The organization coordinates EVS hosting activities in close cooperation with local partners, environmental, social and municipal institutions, which provide working environments and internal support for volunteers. Therefore, every hosting project might have different environments in the city or the countryside. Naturally, volunteers’ tasks and activities vary too depending on the hosting partner and the project. Nevertheless, some basic hosting principles are always followed, for example, volunteers are always accommodated in the vicinity of the working place (transport covered), they are provided with private rooms, they are always placed within a local community, have local mentors assigned for extra support etc.
Our office is a contact point for Lithuanian young people and volunteers willing to go abroad, searching for information, volunteering projects, willing to help, interested in intercultural issues. It is also a place for international volunteers (from different parts of Lithuania) to have EVS related meetings, plan common activities or simply socialize.
The office is situated in the centre, which is the second largest city of Lithuania (population in 2011 - ~ 320 000, in all of Lithuania ~ 3,0 million).
The town is one of the most significant cities of Lithuania. It is not only a city of old traditions, but also a large centre of business and industry. It can also lay claim to be a city of young people with over 35,000 students studying at one of the seven universities here.
Hundreds of years of cultural heritage are preserved in the historical and architectural monuments, museums, theatres, art galleries and churches of the town. In the town we are proud of the importance that our people have played in contributing towards making the rich cultural, historical, and academic tapestry that is Lithuania.
Volunteers have all the possibilities to enjoy a full scale city life (cafes, pubs, cinemas, night clubs, shopping centres, parks and so on) and also volunteers’ community. As mentioned, volunteers from other places of Lithuania are able to visit in the town on a regular basis. For more information about the city,

The main principle is volunteers’ strong motivation to take part in our activities. Work in the office greatly relies on meetings and communication with people so naturally candidates should have some communication skills, to be open minded and with strong affiliation to people. Volunteers should be ready to learn how to work independently as well as in a team. We expect to receive active volunteers, willing to take initiative in volunteering promotion and development.
The recruitment process usually takes place as follows: project description with dates and free places is announced online (website, email) among our sending partners and young people who have contacted us before; the organization selects the future volunteer(s); All of the selection participants are informed about the selection results. In case sending organizations are identified prior to specific volunteers, pre-selection takes place in the sending country, and afterwards candidate applications are forwarded to the host organization.
The organization is open to work with any organization accredited to send EVS volunteers and other organizations from other regions which have experience and are able to follow EU “Youth in Action” philosophy in practice.
Tarefas: The work involves extracurricular activities with children aged 3-6 years old
