Resumo: The organization community is located in a village of 3000 inhabitants, 4 km from Selestat (17000 inhabitants), 50 km from Strasbourg in the north and 30km south of Colmar. Four organization communities exist in Alsace, with which we are linked.

The organization can host 2 young people who are living in the community, but in a separate property house. They have an apartment equipped with all necessary amenities. Each has its own bedroom, kitchen and has to share the bathroom. They participate in the daily life of the community, as well as 40 other companions, they share the time of collective life: meals, recreation, community meetings ... They also participate in the recovery work of the community. It asked young people to respect the basic rules: be on time, notify absences, participation in service tasks ...

Perfil: The only criterion for recruitment is the motivation of the young. He has to have maturity, must be ready to commit to others for the project of our association in respect of each. We most work with sending organizations which are sensitive to : environmental issues, the fight against discrimination, the interest of margninalized people.
Recruitment will be made in close association with our partner.

Tarefas: The volunteer tasks are defined with each volunteer, after a time of discovery provided for his arrival : this can be a collected business, selling books, clothing, toys, dishes. We ensure that volunteers are in contact with the companions, and that they discover all the activities of the association. For these tasks, they are followed by the companions who have expertise, by a monitor of the workshop, by employees of the association and by friends of the association.

We propose at each volunteer to follow a French course taught by a certified training, located in Selestat.

It is also proposed to present a personal project, which can benefit for himself and for the association. Emmaüs makes sure that the projects could be carried out. Blanca did the website of Emmaüs; Franzizka made an exhibition on the history of Emmaus; Elisabeth initiated the association at the beauty of art through the recovery, Christoph made a video about companions retirees; Jorge was a guide for Peruvian companions; Elena assured the animation of a group of young people during 2 months in summer.

The indicative schedule is as follows: 4 days of activities due to 7hours/day (8 am-12 am and 2 pm-5 pm), a day for the personnal project. 2.5 days of vacation are provided per month attendance.

In addition to that there is the preparation time and meetings offered by the association our partner. One way for young volunteers to meet, train, take a step back!
