Resumo: When arriving, the young volunteer collaborates with the various persons of the association so he/she can be oriented; he she can discover the activities of the association. Then a project will be set up with the volunteer to define the actions which seem to concern him/her the most. Every time when it is possible, the volunteer will be associated with actions emphasizing the voluntary service. The young volunteer helps us to develop our European project.

The project takes place in asmall town located 2 kms away from the city (10 000 inhabitants). The association is very integrated into various projects led by the services of the city and also organizes natural trips, hiking with public in town or outside, all over the center area of the department. The young volunteer will be associated with all these actions. The city is a mid-sized city compared to others in the department of La Manche. This city is known for its annual international jazz festival and its cathedral. It is located 10 km away from the seaside. The department of La Manche has 350 km of coasts, which makes it a touristic area. The region lives on the marine activity, on the agricultural and touristic activity. Our association works mainly on the center of the department of La Manche.

Perfil: motivated and concerned by environment or trained in biology, or concerned by international relations, concerned by animation with young people, if possible level High school diploma or higher education. If possible with some notions of French language. A young person eager to live an experience in a rural town and who has not had the opportunity to acquire an intercultural experience. This young person should like the do-it-yourself and the manual work. Major young person of more than 18 years. Young person having less opportunity is possible.

Short term: volunteer having less opportunity but concerned by environment or sustainable development. We will search young people who do not have the opportunity to move far from their home, who meet social or professional difficulties or financial difficulties. The young people will have to want to live an experience of independence far from their close relations and family.
Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The tasks will be varied; they will take into account the necessities of the association and the young volunteer's centres of interest. According to his/hers skills and his/hers centres of interests, the young volunteer will be able to take initiatives, however in their realization he will be under the responsibility of a member of the team. A weekly schedule is proposed every week in a team meeting.

Various tasks are possible, such as:
- Being involved in the elaboration of nature activities with young children.
- Taking part in the touristic activities.
- Supporting within the framework of the various projects led with the program Youth in Action: contact with the international partners.
- Creating educational tools (from the conception to the animation): drawing, painting, do-it-yourself (conception of jig saw puzzles, manufacturing of various games dealing with environment for the children)
- Following up of the documentation.
- Some activities of translation or interpretation.
- Communicating on all the projects of the organization.
- Promoting the EVS with the local youth during various demonstrations, creating links with high schools.
- Helping to the preparation of European Youth Exchange projects and animation of the exchanges.
- Other works concerning the interest of the volunteer and the needs of the association.

These activities are partially based on the volunteer's creativity and experiences and they will be followed by a member of the association.
Some examples:
Outside nature animations: fishing from the shore, discovering dunes, tree plantation, crossing of the Havre of Regnéville, discovering forests and bocage, discovering the aquatic circles (fauna, flora, wet zones etc.), ornithological trips, water classes (education to the environment on the theme of water), éco citizens classes etc.

Creation, repair of educational tools: realization of games as "memory" on the waste, creation of games on the cycle of life of insects and the cycle of water, conception of educational games about outdoors natural animations.

Communication: realization of posters, flyers for the public, updating of our web site, information about our actions through the local newpapers, creation of new communication tools.
