A Theatre (2 days), that runs along the same principles as the Studio; where students who have completed the Theatre Performance Course are able to further their professional development. There are part time and full time visual art courses, all for self development, but some also accredited by FETAC.

The organization is located in the heart of the town, facing a car park and and a ruined 15th century Abbey, both beside the King’s River. This area is in the early stages of becoming a Town Square and Park, withThe organization being a central cultural resource. It is a small town, but on the bus route between Dublin (Airport & City ) and Cork.

The organization is a busy environment, and the volunteer will have an individual mentor that will help them to settle into the local community. Efforts will be made to give the volunteers opportunities to mix with young people.

The applicants will be requested to supply information (C.V, Motivation letter, filled in Questionnaire, Police clearance, written character references), in accordance with the EVS and our own requirements. It will be clear and transparent what is expected, we are open for any questions during the process. All efforts will be made to focus on the suitability and matching interest of the candidates and the activity.
All candidates that apply and have the potential to fit in our volunteer profile will receive an email with a request for their C.V., a letter of motivation, and 2 written character references, and pointing them to our website for more information on the organization. They also will be asked to fill in a questionnaire to further establish how well they fit regarding our volunteer profile. (Questions on if they have lived away from their familiy home, if they had experience with people with special needs, art and theatre, etc.) They will get a bullet point desciption of the placement so they know the basic details.

Any candidates that supply the requested information will be screened further according to the profile. Next step is the need to supply a police clearance and two written references: these are our own recruitment requirements, in accordance with Irish Law, for working with vulnerable people. All candidates will receive more infomation about their activities during the placement.

The candidates that have supplied all information and did not withdraw from the process are phoned to complement the email contact with a telephone call or skype, to ask if there are any questions and to experience their level of English. A final selection is than made, again focussing on the suitability and matching interest of the candidates and KCAT, if there are more candidates left than there are placements available. Genderbalance and a variety of nationalities is our general aim within the group of volunteers.
