Resumo: The organization is involved in different activities evolving around a local level but also international projects and trainings. Our neighbourhood consists of a people from various countries, either immigrants or visitors. Our organization is in an effort of integrating youths of a different cultural background within our neighbourhood. The presence and active participation of volunteers from different countries will be a strong statement in our efforts as well as a motivation of youths to be involved.

Our experience in Youth in Action activities and our good relations with other organizations within Cyprus will allow us to act as coordinators for EVS projects.
The experience of hosting EVS volunteers and the process followed to train and deal with local and international volunteers has enhanced our level of volunteer management, a practice we would like to follow up.
As a sending organizatin we have already created an information point and enhance potential Cypriot EVS volunteers in their effort to participate in future EVS projects.

As a hosting organization we have hosted a very successful EVS project during which 3 volunteers from 3 different countries offered their services to our organization. Both the volunteers and the young people of our organization gained trementously from this EVS project not only on a personal but also on a social level.

Perfil: The organization is involved in voluntary work concerning the local neighborhood. Volunteers who will be interested in being hosted should be ready to get involved with children, parents and the everyday events of the neighborhood. They should be willing to work with cultural events, youths and children in a safe neighborly environment. Be part of the society they will work in and get actively involved in the process. Be ready to accept challenges and not far responsibilities. There will be a range of interests they could get involved in. Culture, history learning, information technology skills, project planning and implementation.

Sending Organizations that have a close relation with the volunteers to be sent and know their background and have a personal knowledge of the volunteer's area organisation we would like to work with. The volunteers should be interviewed and given all the details of what we as a host organisation expect them to work with.
age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The volunteer will be hosted at an apartment within the neighborhood. He/she will be provided with the opportunity to learn Greek language through lessons within the local primary school. All involvement within the organization will provide knowledge and training concerning, culture, music, costume, information technology skills, web page updating etc.

Any volunteer participating in the project will be asked to live within the neighborhood. Be actively involved in the organised activities of the organisation, either locally or internationally. He/she will be asked to facilitate, and gradually, participate, organize and implement activities within this frame. Our organisation is actively collaborating with the local primary school and high school and the local church committee. This involvement includes co organising events or even responding to proposed activities. The volunteer will be asked to participate in such events.

The organisation is based on weekly, occasional and yearly activities.
Weekly we have dancing, theatre meetings of children and youths. The volunteer will be asked to facilitate the meetings concerning equipment and hosting. (cd players, lighting, noting absences, treating children with both water and sweets etc.)

Occasionally we have performances of dancing and theatre. The organising from scratch (applications, ideas, posters, funding, implementation) will be tasks in which the volunteers will be involved with the people working at the organisation.

Youth in Action projects are materialized (youth exchanges, training courses) in which we expect the volunteers to be part of the preparation application and implementation.
The volunteers will be welcome to propose ideas of activities within the philosophy and goals of the organisation will be promoted to implement them.
The organisation hosts a web page which we will be pleased to actively involve the volunteers in updating it giving the opportunity of enhancing it skills.
Our organisation is hoping to obtain a building within the neighborhood that will work as a youth club for the youths of the neighborhood. The volunteers will be expected to facilitate and run the centre during opening hours.
