Resumo: Victoria Host is a cultural and educational promotion non profit organisation working and serving the youths.On the international level we are partnering with ICES Europe to run these international cultural exchange programs ( work and Travel USA, Paid Internships USA) We are partnering with other international organisations to carry out international volunteers placements here in Uganda. We are at the same time working a number of Germany partners on the Aupair program for Ugandan youths to be placed in Germany. Cultural Embrace - Project description: This proposed EVS project will take place in Wakiso and Kampala District of Uganda and its primary goals include interacting with local youths, supporting, educating them, and promoting international and inter-cultural exchanges and interactions. This project will provide mutual understanding and learning opportunities for both the EVS volunteers and the youths they will be working with thus opening doors of possibilities. Project activities will include; 1. Themed Workshops 2. Themed seminars 3. Sports and drama 4. Recreational activities 5. Community projects 6. Culture Club 7. Civic engagement

Perfil: "IMPORTANT NOTES: Sports, Drama and Recreational activities will be carried out on weekends however, sports and drama program rehearsals shall be carried out during week days.
The volunteers must be flexible and creative and be able to respect organizational leadership. Each volunteer will be encouraged to use his or hers cultural background and knowledge during their time here at the project. Volunteers who can carry their home cultural items for exhibition is welcome. The project activities shall be split coordinating to the time and all volunteers must be ready to be shifted from one activity to another to avoid monopoly. We expect 4 female volunteers (18 to27 years) and 3 male volunteers (18-27 years). All volunteers will undergo 2 weeks of local language training and orientation on arrival to help them settle in very well. Every volunteer will have 2 weeks holiday for the 12 months they will be here with us in Uganda. Project activities shall be carried out in local communities, schools, local youth centers, churches, local youth groups, local youth leaders, tertiary institutions, etc."

Tarefas: TYPICAL VOLUNTEER'S DAY - The day starts at 8:00Am volunteer's meet at the project office to prepare for the day's activity and program. At 8:30 Am volunteer's and the project mentor together with the project team set off for the workshop/seminar venue for the day's themed workshop facilitation. From 9:00Am to 1:00 the workshop takes place with the volunteers and project team facilitating the workshop while engaging the local youths at the workshop venue. The workshop ends before Lunch. Lunch time break if from 1:00 Pm to 2:00 Pm At 2:00 Pm volunteers return to project to make preparations for the following day's program and activities.
