Resumo: The project takes place in a city and the accommodation will be in a small town, 1,100 m.a.s.l., in the Pre-Pyrenees, in a beautiful landscape and a very quiet place with high quality of life. Volunteers will live in the mountains, in contact with nature. The town is formed by 2 restaurants, hostels, a church and few houses. In Solsones the houses are scattered in the territory, almost without city centre. In the town there is no public transport. The school is closed. There are not many young people living here, 500 registered people and 60 people living every day. On weekends many people go to the town and it looks quite different.

Volunteers will live in the town, as other technicians of the organisation, in a flat shared with one more volunteer. As we act at a regional scope, we will enable volunteers to know other towns and cities of Catalonia. They will go for some days a week to other places to carry out activities and participate in meetings and projects.

Perfil: Volunteers: with motivation for the project, team work and with experience with young people. Basic Spanish language skills are necessary. All our work is done in Catalonian, so a base of Spanish will make the understanding easier. Willing to live in the rural environment; who like nature and willing to learn about a new culture.

We send a mail with our placements to all organisations we have collaborated with and to all sending organisations. We also publish it inour international youth network.
We have 2 calls per year. Each call has 2 stages: Prelisting of candidates fulfilling the profile; these candidates are then informed about the details of the project, are asked to fulfil a questionnaire and to state their real motivation to participate. In the questionnaire they also have to say what they would do in certain situations and are asked about attitudes. 2: we talk with the candidates to know more about them and we select the ones matching the requirements.

Volunteers know the activities; interest for them is the most important thing. They carry out different tasks, collaborating with us, not as an employer. They carry out support tasks, though they also have responsibilities so they can develop personally. The only requirement is that they have to be prepared to live in a rural area.

It is important to receive training from the sending organisation before coming and that the sending organisation keeps in contact with volunteers throughout the project.
Age: 18 until 30 years old
