Resumo: Liechtenstein, with a population of 35,000 (end of 2005) and an area of 160 square kilometres, is the fourth smallest state in Europe. It borders Switzerland to the south and west and Austria to the east and north. The lowest point is the Ruggeller Riet at 430 m above sea level and the country's highest mountain is the Grauspitz with 2,599 metres. Liechtenstein's Rheintal valley covers half of Liechtenstein's entire territory. Since the rest of the country has a mountainous character, this is Liechtenstein's actual agricultural area.
Despite its small size, the country looks back on a very eventful history. A history of rapid developments, and not least its transformation from being a purely agricultural country to an industrial economy.
Liechtenstein is a constitutional hereditary monarchy on a democratic and parliamentary basis. The power of the state is inherent in and issues from the ruling prince and the people.

The town with the residence of the princely family, seat of the government and parliament is becoming more and more the centre of the region. Also located in the town is the JWG and the flat where the volunteers are accommodated. The Principality of Liechtenstein is divided into 11 municipalities called Gemeinden (singular Gemeinde).

The currency valid in Liechtenstein is the Swiss Franc (CHF), but Euros are also accepted in most places.

Perfil: EVS volunteers should be interested in stationary youth work and social work in general. A certain level of social maturity is expected, along with the willingness to act independently.
Basic German-language skills are welcome in order to be able to communicate with the young people in the JWG.
We expect the EVS volunteers to set an example for our youths. The EVS volunteers must follow the group leaders upon whom they should be able to model their own actions. We expect a well-groomed appearance and no obvious orientation towards youth peer groups.
age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: · We provide an insight into the stationary youth work in Liechtenstein for a maximum of six months
· The volunteers get to know a social organisation with various areas.
· The volunteers are supervised in the form of discussions with their mentor
· During daily work the volunteers are coached by the staff on duty
· Chance of attending the team meetings
· No night work, but weekend work possible as part of projects
· Spare-time activities are encouraged
· Intercultural introductory evening
· German-language course or topic-specific further training
· Flat with other EVS participants and trainees in the town(maximum of 5 per residential unit)
· During the service, the volunteer develops a project, taking into account his/her skills, which the volunteer plans, implements and evaluates independently, with the assistance of the mentor.
