Tarefas: Educational enrichment in daily program:
The main role of the volunteers on a daily basis in the projects is as an enrichment assistant, providing extra educational activities for the children in our educational projects in coordination with the main educational staff. Volunteers will be trained in providing creative enrichment activities according to their abilities to the children the Fountain of Hope After School Center and the Gradinita Rasarit Kindergarten. They will be guided to identify their talents and interests and how to create educational activities that utilize these skills. In particular they will be guided to teach their mother tongue or English to the children in a holistic manner – using a combination of acting out stories with props, songs and games, which will be integrated into the curriculum in 1/2 hour sessions. They will also be trained in teaching yoga to children, as it is based on physical movements which is easier to lead even in a foreign language as children can follow the movements and learn vocabulary through repetition associated with movements. They will have the opportunity to develop other activities based on their own abilities, especially in arts, music and sports and integrate these into the daily routine.

Together with the educational team of the projects, they will integrate such activities into the daily schedule of the project, coordinating plans with existing curriculum plans during weekly team meetings. Fountain of Hope volunteers will integrate extra-curricular activities based on their skills as afternoon “clubs”. In addition, Volunteers are also involved in household activities such as meal preparation, gardening, chopping wood for heating, cleaning, maintaining, repairing and organizing didactic materials.

Thematic projects
Volunteers will also be actively involved in developing the longer thematic projects together with staff. For example, they will create a 2 week theme project that celebrate multicultural diversity by highlighting their home countries. Another theme project on diversity is about acceptance of minorities and special needs and they will be involved in networking with minority rights organizations in order to involve guests from minority groups in curriculum projects designed to promote inclusivity by creating friendships between the children and people with diverse backgrounds. They will also be actively involved in organizing Earth Day celebration activities and end-of the year performances to show parents some of the results of their activities with the children. These activities directly with the children will provide the volunteers with practical experience in Neohumanist education through both formal and non-formal learning activities.

Promotional activities
In addition, volunteers will also play visible P.R. roles in promoting both EVS and volunteering, during the Open Day programs for the local communities and other networking events in the NGO community and educational community. They will be involved in promoting ecological values through involvement in the Community Supported Agricultural (CSA) project, by helping with distributions of the vegetable baskets to Bucharest consumers and promotion of CSA as well as Earth Day events, and promotion of volunteer spirit during activites that they organize in the community as well as those organized by Provobis. They will also be trained in maintaining the Facebook pages of the projects, in helping to create displays and write articles for newsletters and the website.

Trainings / skill formation
Trainings in Neohumanist Education will provide volunteers with the necessary skills for working with the children, and for personal development of communication competencies and stress management. Training will also be provided in basic NGO project management which will be put into practice by being directly involved in the design, planning, implementation and reporting process for creating summer camp projects at our farm, kindergarten and the Fountain of Hope, excursions and other special events. Volunteers will also be involved in learning more about ecology and organic farming by participating in organic gardening or permaculture workshops and practical work days held at the organization Social Garden farm which will aid them in developing similar ecological activities for the children. They are also involved in monitoring and evaluating the results of the programs, both through the weekly team meetings, as well as through assisting in the tracking of monthly indicators.
