Resumo: "A House of Hope - is situated near city Panevezys. Its only a few kilometers and can be reached my a town bus. Hosting organization ""Vilties Namai"" is a non-governmental organization, which aim is to give mentally disabled people (age from 18 years old) a place to live and a better life. It helps these kind of people to find job, live a social life, gives all the support needed to survive and takes care of their free time. Hosting organization does not only work with mentaly disabled people but also have a possibility to work with local youth and children from socially poor backgrounds. Seminars, meetings are prepared to talk about socialy poor families and ways to help them. Organization ""Vilties Namai"" has experience with projects and volunteers. In year 2001 they participated in Youth Work Center project and had 4 volunteers from Great Britan. Main aims: - To help people with special needs to live normal life in community; - To teach and give own responsibilites in every day life, in all functions of people with needs. - To Help to fullfill all the special needs with a help of assitants. This organization takes care of acomodation, feeding, wardship, nursing, medical service, provision with clothes, higene accessories, free time activities and employnment, transport service, compensory things, Comunication, psychological, court needs, Cultural events. Every ward has his own to choose a room for two people and his friend to live with. In case of exception, ward can live in own room alone. People eat four times a day. Food is prepared considering their own needs. Drinks like tea, mineral water, juice, coffee are not limited. Ant they can choose food when they are hungry. Dweller, which needs wardship gets a tutor by local laws, which helps him. These tutors mostly are social workers. Every dweller gets a complete nursing: he and his clothes are washed, feed, His room is tided and due to personal possibilities he gets social care. Every person living there is provided with different activities he/she can do. For example cook food, tidy room, cut the grass, prepare wood for winter, work in a garden. This house has joiner facilities, wards can take theatrical activities. Also they have a possibility to go to Youth Work center. They are taken to job and brought back after they have finished. coordinating organization A. Lipniuno cultural center is situated near city's centre and also not far away from river Nevezis bank. There is a park outside the organization builiding. In the same builing there are situated all catholic organizations like Youth center, Family center, Scouts, ""Ateitis"" foundation, etc.
A.Lipniuno cultural center has experience as a sending organization for EVS projects. This organization will be responsible for volunteers free time activities. Volunteer will have a posibilty to come and join our every day activities, also offer his own ideas in organization. In coordinating organization every day we have youth meetings. Young people (age mostly 14-25) gather here to spend time, be with each other and help the organization. Youth is always with new ideas so we often have interesting journeys and events. Panevëþys, the capital of Aukštaitija Ethnographic Region, has been the fifth largest city in Lithuania for more than a century. It occupies 50 square kilometers with more than 119 thousand inhabitants, the majority of whom (96 per cent) are Lithuanians. The rest are Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Byelorussian, Jewish and Karaite people. Panevëþys is situated in the middle of Lithuania; it is halfway between two Baltic capitals - Vilnius and Riga. The city lies in a good geographical position which plays a major role in communication with other Lithuanian cities and the city of Kaliningrad. The Via Baltica highway runs through the city and connects it to many Scandinavian and West European countries. Panevëþys lies on the banks of the river Nevëþis, the sixth longest river in Lithuania. The river gave its name to the city itself. Panevëþys has a reputation for being a clean, cosy and green city. At the same time it is an important industrial spot. After country's regaining independence, many companies in the city underwent painful transformations."

Perfil: We would like to have a caring volunteer, which would really like to work with people with serious problems. He/She should be creative, sensitive, have good comunication skills.

Tarefas: "Voluntary work is very popular in Europe countries. Our organization hosts volunteers from Lithuania's universities. But there are not many who wants, because this is a work without reward.
Volunteer could help to organize free time, every day activities, teach higene things. Hosting organization does not only work with mentaly disabled people but also have a possibility to work with local youth and children from socially poor backgrounds. Seminars, meetings are prepared to talk about socialy poor families and ways to help them. Voluntary work will be erally helpful in this sphere."
