To enable all the activities, the organisation works with 220 (local) volunteers, 22 free-lance teachers, 2 leaders for the toddler-groups, 1 caretaker and 2 assistants for maintenance and cleaning, 1 activity-leader, 1 social-cultural worker and 1 person for management and co-ordination.
Community: De Bilt is a big village east of the city of Utrecht. Although itself is not very interesting, the nature around the village offers a lot of recreational opportunities. In the nearby town of Utrecht you can find lots of pubs, theatres, cinemas, musea and shops as well as the central railway station from where it is very easy to reach other major cities in Holland (for example: Amsterdam is 20 minutes by train). There is a mix of ethnic communities.
Previous experience with YOUTH / EVS: As organisation we hosted 5 EVS-projects (5 volunteers) and a job-shadowing project over the last few years.

Perfil: The volunteer has to be able to work with different age groups. We expect a certain amount of flexibility and creativity, an open attitude, capacity to integrate in the team, a good motivation to learn from experiences, to be open for evaluation and feed-back, taking initiatives while planning activities and show interest in the living conditions of people we are working with. A good control of the English language is a must.
We prefer to work with sending organisations from the "new" European countries (like the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, and Montenegro. Part of the selection procedure will based on above mentioned specifications. Furthermore the applicant volunteers have to fill out two questioners from which we try to deduct motivation, skills, interests and (partially) character (based on a typology test by Jung / Myers-Briggs). All applicants will have a similar procedure and will be informed about the outcome / decisions.

Tarefas: The project offers an opportunity to work with various age-groups. General aims are:
- Avoid social exclusion and improve learning abilities and creative skills.
- Provide recreational facilities in addition to tutoring services and prevention activities.
- Offer various groups a large variety of leisure - time - activities.
The voluntary work will be done in several township-centres. The volunteer will participate in the playgroups, the child-activities, youth work and partially the work with elderly people. The volunteer will assist with the care, accompaniment and animation of participants in several age groups. He / she will participate in the preparation (including the publicity), the implementation and evaluation of the activities and projects, such as: playgroup-activities (toddlers); creative afternoons for children; cultural events (dance, theatre / drama); disco- (once a month) and club-activities (for children and teens), outdoor and sport bus-activities for children in several neighbourhoods, and youth initiative groups (mainly Moroccan girls), assisting in providing meals for 60 elderly people (once a month), summer camp for 380 kids (once a year).
