Resumo: One of the project will be developed in a village created in 1967 and situated in the high plains of the Guadiana river, in the center of the Extremadura Region, located in the municipality.

There live about 800 people in the village in the same way as people in the surrounding villages. The houses are the same – white and designed for families who are engaged to agricultural activities. It's a region strongly agricultural in spring and summer and there's big unemployment in winter so some people emigrate to other places. The most common crops are: tomato, rice, melon, corn and fruit trees.

Young people go to kindergarten and primary school in the villages and to secondary schools in towns like Don Benito, to universities they go to cities like Caceres, Badajoz and Merida.

We live 100 km from Badajoz, where the border with Portugal is, 60km from Caceres. The most important places are: Don Benito, Villanueva de la Serena, Merida, Miajadas and Trujillo.


The organization is developing the Home Care program for dependent people who come from different parts of Extremadura.
People who work in Centro have a lot of experience in performing the Youth programmes. We have done youth exchanges with Europe and Latin America since 1994. We were EVS host organisation as well as EVS sending organisation with Europe and countries from Latin America since 1998. Those projects were a part of the regular work of our organisation.

Perfil: We would like to invite volunteers who like to live and work in rural society and who have got a basic knowledge of Spanish to expedite their work.
It would be good if the volunteer had a minimum of experience in some areas such as socio-cultural animation, leisure time, art, agriculture or rural development, environment and ecology, taking care of elderly people (nursing).

When they had driving licence, it would improve their mobility and personal autonomy living in the rural society.

About the sending organisation, we do not have any special requirements, apart from being able to dealing with the project application and fullfilling duties connected with its role as a sending organisation – helping the volunteer before and durign EVS. It would be helpful if the employees spoke Spanish.
Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The possible activities which can be run by the volunteers depending on their skills and abilities are:
Activities with children in the town: the organization has got a social center where activities for children take place. The room is equipped with computers, various games and educational materials. In the center additional activities are run from Monday to Friday (workshops, crafts, games, theatre, environmental activities, recreation room, school tutoring, workshops related to Christmas, music and singing activities, summer school etc).

Helping in youth hostel in the town: There is a youth hostel situated in rural area affiliated to tne red called REAJ. There take place various meetings, seminars, trainings, exchanges and conferences in the hostel. It has a capacity of hosting 44 people. The volunteers could undertake some activities with the hostel guests and help with serving meals and organizing work of the guests.


Support of elderly and dependent people in variuos villages in Extremadura.
The organization has got the official accreditation to provide services to elderly and dependent people at home, currently has got 177 people supported. The volunteers could realise the tasks with the regular workers: cognitive stimulation therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, accompaning during medical visits, meals serving.

Support of the international projects: preparing the international exchanges and EVS – the volunteer could translate project documentation to Spanish or English or encourage some workshops during the exchanges.

Agricultural actions: from April to August we cooperate with the farmers in irrigation and crop of tomatoes, melons, rice, watermelons. The volunteers could take part in these activities to gain experience in farmer work. Also, the volunteers could run the activities on the environmental protection, such as: environmental cleanups, garden recovering, river cleanups, workshops on environmental protection.
