Resumo: The project take place in a town of small population in the province of Extremadura. The nearby cities are: Villanueva de la Serena, Mengabril, La Haba and Medellin. The closest bigger cities include Cáceres, Badajoz, Córdoba and Ciudad Real. The town has a population of about 40 000 people and has an attractive town centre. It takes 4 hours to get there by bus from Madrid and 3 from Lisbon. The living costs are slightly lower than Spanish average.

The volunteers will work 30-35 hours per week (about 6-7 hours daily). The volunteer should be ready to work at weekends as well. Depending on the skills and preferences of the volunteers, we will balance the specific tasks to be performed. In dialogue with the volunteers will also be discussed how many hours of Spanish language course they will take, but is possible to have one or two times for a week.

Perfil: The volunteer must show a desire to want to learn new skills, have patience, be flexible and be willing to work in some tasks. We do not require highly skilled people, the willingness to learn and take part is extremely important.

The organization works with a range of partner sending organisations, and is open to receiving applications from all interested volunteers. We will review applications on an equal basis, and as with all our recruitment methods - we adhere to good practice standards and Equal Oportunities.

Volunteers which like social work, like working with children and young people, like doing workshops about evironemtns, with animals etc. So the profile of volunteers includes: socio cultural monitors, teachers, environmental educators, etc.
age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: Our volunteers have the opportunity to gain experience of working in the city, living independently in the shared flat in the town and getting to know the local culture through their work and friendships during the time they spend here. We encourage all our volunteers to attend a local language course and get involved in other activities they might enjoy which are available in the city. We also encourage volunteers to gain experience in the other departments depending on what their interests are and what there are any specific skills they would like to develop during their placement in addition to their core activities.

The basic role of the volunteer is the promotion of the intercultural learning. We reckon that intercultural learning plays an important role on different levels in the organisation and the society in general, and the volunteers will play a key role in this matter. The volunteer will further on work with a number of relevant teams and employees across the organisation and, apart from that, in close partnership with other volunteers. This structure will give the volunteer a double role as both an "idea-entrepreneur" and a person that follows up different culture activities and actions run by the basic team. Supervision concerning the different roles will be secured.

The main activities include working in the following departments:

1) The Educational Farm "The Mansegal" is an environmental space, created as a resource and as a complement to the educational training of children in schools and for informal groups as for families, and for associations of persons with disabilities. "The Mansegal" offers a wide range of activities in which the volunteers will be integrated with other monitors and professional staff for developing tasks in the variety of projects as: ecology, ethnography, farm, farming, popular games, snail farming, riding, driver education, botany, etc. The work implies a large variety of tasks: cleaning and maintenance of the farm, feeding the animals, and any other activity which keeps the exhibits in order and well-functioning, and preparing the educational workshops for children and adults, creating props and resources for educational games and activities.

2) European Office in Educative Centre, the volunteer will work with all social media activities, regarding working with Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Vimeo, Youtube, Wordpress and other platforms planning the graphic elements of organisation as logo, leaflets, website.
