Resumo: The village is a small but historically significant part of Hungary. This area is very well-known for its natural beauty, architecture and ethnographical values. In this area, there are 47 small municipalities from that around 20-30 small villages are isolated with approximately 18 000 Hungarian, Croatian and Roma people. The area is at the croatian border, next to the river, DrA!va. The neighbour villages are Tesenfa, Dravapiski, Szaporca, Cun, Dravacsepely. Harkany, Sellye, Siklos are bigger cities next to the village (10 km). Pecs, the European Cultural Capital in 2010 lying 40 km away from the village. It takes 1 hour by bus, 30-40 minutes by car to achieve Pecs.

The village has 523 inhabitants. There are 2 churches (catholic and reformed), kindergarten, primary school, youth club, local doctor, pharmacy, bank, 2 small shops 2 pubs and an old mill.
Our organisation owns the local mill with a huge garden and more builidings for office, training, workshops and living. There is an information center at the entrance for tourists and youth. The whole mill area is covered by free wireless connection.

Tarefas: - Being involved in the local communitie’s every day life. Teaching the locals english or your language
and learning hungarian from them!
- Project planning (Ex.: organising youth exchange, keep contact with partners, write application, build
up the project, work out the details, logistic)
- Greenway Project based on the local peoples. For 15 local
inhabitants will organised a tourist guide and bike repair workshop
with english and croatian language course. They will be able to
host the guest, tourist who will come to the Ormánság area. The
volunteer is free to create new local programs for the guest.
Greenway project in partnership with a croatian team from Osijek
and Latinovac. Aim is to build out a long way greenway route
from Kémes to Latinovac with capillar routes and organising
trainings for the local people, involve them from each villages.
- Mobile Youth Work. The volunteer can keep in touch with the
youth, involve them in projects, take part in the daily life of the villages, get to know the local people, and create together new project. We visit the youth in the villages of the Ormánság area and hold presentation about the opportunities of the European Union Projects (Youth exchange, Local initiatives, European Volunteer Service). Volunteer can come with us, talk about his/her hometown, about his/her culture, habits, about the the organisation and recently projects at the host organisation.
- Weaving. Volunteers can learn the technic of the old weaving
profession of the areas they can help to develop a the creative ideas from carpet or weaved textile WAIST factory & creative workshops. We use different recycling technic to make jewelleries, bags, furnitures, clothes, several accessories from plastic battle, can, bike tube and tire, banner, milk box, all kind of materials.
- Gardening. Indoor & outdoor gardening for the locals.
There is a huge territory belongs to the mill with free part
for planting vegetables, herbs. The plan is to have domestic
animals (chicken, goat, dog, cat…).
