Resumo:
The EVS volunteers will be hosted in the city(about 400.000 inhabitants). The city is famous for its university dimension and it hosts the oldest European university that with its 90.000 students contributes to make the city a lively cultural and intercultural forge. The city is very open to youths and it offers al lot in term of personal growth and cultural activities.

The social context of the city and of its province is particularly receptive to volunteering activities thus they find a perfect incubator that creates the ideal conditions for the growth and the informal learning of the EVS volunteers involved in volunteering activities in this area.

The organization thanks to its experience and its connection with the local dimension is fully aware of the huge and beneficial impact that the EVS could have and is keen to exploit this tool strong of its international and local network of partners.

The connection between the organization and the territory is very strong and this close relationship with the local community foster the intercultural exchange and learning of the volunteers and enrich the EVS experience in general allowing a fast integration in the local dimension and concrete and fitting activities, interconnected with the social texture. Particularly the organization established formal agreement with several local and regional (several Town Councils and the Region) institutions and cooperates with several dozens of non-governmental organisation that are active on specific field (migrants, environment, intercultural, social inclusion, …).

The rich intercultural dimension of the city further contributes to make even more fertile the context in which the EVS project will take place. In fact since several years the city represents an attraction point for immigrants of various nationalities (in particular Eastern Europe and Northern Africa). This contributes to enrich the social context, continuously changing it and creating new challenges to confront with.

It’s a trend that doesn’t seem to change and confirmed by the last data from the Statistic Dossier of the Provincial Observatory on Migration. The ones that settled in the city and province during the years, have create various associations born and managed by themselves in first person and with which the organization actively cooperates in several activities and initiatives. This with the aim of creating a more just and inclusive society. The common denominator is the exploitation of the diversity and of the peculiarities that define each single individual as such.
The volunteers will be actively embedded in this multiethnic and stimulating environment by exploiting the activities and the network of contacts of the organization. This will enable them to approach this context and act as protagonists thus making the most of the unique opportunity of the EVS. This close contact with the local community and the active participation in volunteering, informative and formative activities carried out by the organization will widely enhance the growing possibility for the volunteers. Moreover this will have a beneficial impact in the process of learning the Italian language that will be speeded and facilitated by the close contact with the local community.

Perfil: The ideal EVS volunteer should stand out for dynamism, proactivity, determination, and should have a deep interest for the non profit world. Moreover the volunteer coming from disadvantage backgrounds will be particularly considered since the work on social inclusion that the organization carries out in cooperation with several associations and institutions.
The volunteers with previous experience in the volunteering and third sector and that are willing to grow in this field are particularly welcomed. The desire to do, learn, and put themselves in the game will help the volunteers in making the most of an EVS experience in the organization.

No discrimination (social, economic, sexual orientation, religious, cultural …) will apply to the recruitment phase. We believe is important to widen the opportunity to live an international volunteering experience to every youngster, especially the ones with fewer opportunities.
the organization assure a complete transparency during the recruitment phase. This will be achieved sharing the selection criteria and the result with all the candidate volunteers and the sending organisations interested.

The candidates will be asked to submit a motivational letter and a CV in English within a certain deadline announced to everybody. After the deadline the member of the organization working on the EVS programme will start the evaluation of the requests involving the working groups interested in the project (for example the social inclusion groups if the EVS project is on this theme).

The choice will be based on the motivational letter and on the CV with particular attention to the relevancy of the volunteers’ profiles to the proposed project and the planned activities. Phone interviews will be performed, not only to get more information about the volunteers but as well to check if they are fully aware of the contents, methodologies and contest of the project they are applying to. In this way the EVS working group and the other groups involved will be able to evaluate which volunteers they will be able to support best and which competences they will be able to exploit thus making the EVS experience as much formative and satisfactory as possible assuring support, assistance and quality of the project.
Volunteers with special interests regarding the proposed activities are welcome but no particular qualification and previous experience is requested, overall professional competences are not requested since the EVS volunteers will have a non professional support role

Tarefas: The activities in which the volunteers will be involved depend on the specific EVS project and will always be related to specific and well outlined tasks. The organization is very well establish in the territory and carry out regularly informative and ludic activities in collaboration with local bodies and institutions.

In particular in the last year the organization has organised interactive workshops, raise awareness meetings and intercultural events regarding the European dimension with ex-offenders involving them in intercultural youth exchanges, the organization organises regularly movie exhibitions, practical laboratories (e.g. recycling, cooking, …) with the Intercultural Centre Zonarelli involving young migrants from first and second generation. From the beginning of March 2011 the organization has started up YouMob front-office with the local council. This cooperation besides the front-office activities run by the organization staff has led to the development of various public activities and events like info days with freshmen and Erasmus students, intercultural meetings and workshops, events on European mobility, ludic and ludic events, etc… Activities in which the EVS volunteers will be
involved. Moreover in June 2011 the organization has developed with 4 high school from the city a two-year project on awareness raising related to the European dimension, with a formal part of the activities in charge of the teachers and the informal education plan (e.g. workshops, laboratories, role games, …) that will be organised by the organization staff and volunteers.

The EVS volunteers will be involved in the practical organisation of all these activities that are characterised by the informal and non-formal means of education and the volunteering approach.
