The city is a Metropolitan capital that assembles the interest of the whole world not only because of its history and culture but also because of its beauty. In the city are being organized big events, international conferences, the biggest of which was the Olympic Games in 2004.
The hosting organization is among the very few organizations in the western, in general, that provides special services in the field of mental health. So, within this dynamic environment, the volunteers are welcome to take part in the Voluntary Service and to contribute with their energy, potential and creativity.
Perfil: Concerning our potential volunteers, our organization is mostly interested in all the volunteers that can prove their high motive in working in the field of disabilities and anti-descrimination. So, we explore the honest and pure motive through their Cvs and, mainly, their motivation letters and also through a personal talk on the phone, where we are trying to confirm if all these things they write are true and meaningful. At the same time, by our partner (sending) organisation, we get information about the real motive of the volunteer to work in the field. It is really important for us that the sending organization has met at least once personally the volunteer and can give some info about his/her personality.
In order to fit the volunteer in our organisation in the best way, we take also into consideration some other important issues , like a) whether the volunteer have other voluntary experience, b) whether the volunteer have some knowledge or personal experience in the field mental health problems, c) to bring together volunteers from different cultures/countries, d) to bring together volunteers with different educational / professional backgrounds, and e) the availability of the volunteer.
