Resumo: The organization is located in a 97,45 squared km town and it has always enjoyed an international social context, thanks to its important textile industry – which is one of the most important in Europe. The hosts more than 28.000 people aged between 15 and 29, counting as the 15% of the entire population.
During the last few years a great immigration flux has involved th town as well as many other cities in the western world. Today the town counts about 200.000 inhabitants, the 13% of which are foreigners: a quote that enabled the town to be one of most multicultural town at a national level.
Currently, at an economic level, the textile industry has decreased its importance. Therefore a strong need to embrace innovative fields has been raised such as culture, communication, spare-time and touristic services.
In the last few years our organisation has built a co-operation network with the Province, the Municipality, and the other municipalities of the province.
For examples, in collaboration whit the municipalities organises each year international and national work camps.
Practical arrangements (working hours, days off, holidays, food, accommodation, local transport)
Working hours, days off, holidays: The number of working hours per day may vary in relation to different period of the year. The mean number is comprised between 5-6 working hours per day.
During Summer, several engagements like summer camps for children, international work camps, Rifugio Le Cave hostelling activities, will require a permanent stay of EVS volunteers for 7 up to 14 days.
During the week, except for summer period, 2 days will be provided to volunteers with previous accordance with the responsible of project. 2 days holiday every month will be also guaranteed with previous accordance with responsible of project
Days off and holidays are intended to be flexible and cumulative in accordance with volunteers.
Food and accommodation: The volunteers will live together in shared accommodation (apartment) in the historical centre of the town, close to the main kind of facilities and amusements. The apartment has 3 independent double bedrooms with shared cooking, washing, laundry and bathroom. Every volunteer is expected to live together with other 3-5 volunteers. Cleaning, basic hygienic conditions, energy saving strategies (gas, electricity and water) of the apartment are expected to accomplish by volunteers.
Every volunteer will have a monthly budget for food to spend in affiliated supermarket and/or Bio shop. During summer (summer camps, international work camps and hostelling activities in Rifugio Cave) EVS volunteers will have meals for free.
Pocket money is 115 euro every month every volunteers.
Local transport: Every volunteer will receive a urban carnet for bus transportation (every 3 month bus carnet has to be renovated)+ 2 bikes.
The organization provides personal, linguistic and cultural support to each volunteer involved in the Project. The organization also names a mentor responsible for personal support and integration to local community of the volunteers.
The mentor has also an important role in discussing the learning achievements with the volunteers at the end of the project. The volunteers can turn to the mentor in case any problem arises. The volunteers will be actively involved in all activities and decision making and will always be supported by the organization staff.
EVS volunteers will be able to develop several kind of competences and skills, according to their specific preferences, which will be defined in their single projects. By the end of the project, each volunteer is expected to acquire the following objectives:
-Awareness and importance of the respect nature and environment.
-Activities with mentally, socially, and physically disabled people may represent an important personal experience for EVS volunteers, because these activities can help them fight prejudices and develop a sense of tolerance.
-Organisation and management of informal education meetings and seminars addressed to young people
-Organisation of promotional campaigns
-Communication inside and outside the teamwork, groups-work management, problem solving techniques, time and resource management, active listening.
-Event organisation and coordination, independent work planning, results reporting
-Spoken and written Italian language skills; local history and culture
-Mutual understanding, comprehension and cooperation in different cultural frames.
The EVS Volunteers will be introduced to the organisation as well as to the other volunteers. They will be considered as cooperators and will work together with other workers as reference contacts for youth activities. Their roles will be consistent with their project, interests, skills and competences. Even if they will not replace other people employed in other services, EVS Volunteers will be relatively independent in the accomplishment of their job (depending on their tasks at the moment), so that they will be able to develop independence and sense of responsibility working inside the organisation as well as to evaluate their own competencies and skills.
The organization’ s staff will train EVS volunteers to make sure that all volunteers will participate to all activities of the projects, according to their skills and competences. The organization´s staff will also encourage new ideas and projects that EVS volunteers will be willing to implement inside the association.
The mentor will provide individual and group meetings with volunteers to evaluate the best activities each volunteers can carry on, and he'll make sure that the activities proposed will really meet the Volunteers’ skills and competencies.

Tarefas: EVS Volunteers will be involved in the participation and implementation of several activities in the organization. The main activities that EVS volunteers are called to carry on mainly consists in:
From April to November hosts tourist and trekkers. The tasks of the volunteers is to help the local staff in the kitchen and cleaning activities, wood collecting, general maintenance of the hostel, hospitality to tourists and food provision. Rifugio Cave can be reached by feet with a 45 minutes pathway or by the organization' s Jeep.
Hyppotherapy: The organization cooperates with other local organisations and it is the legal tutor of 4 horses designated to Hyppotherapy inside a manege. Hyppotherapy is a very important activity to help relief children with disabilities.
The tasks of the volunteers will be to support Hyppotherapy staff almost all the year (2-3 afternoons a week) give support to summer children camp in the period of June-July and help during educational activity involving students.
Environmental education and outdoor/trekking:the organization cooperates with several schools in the town providing indoor and outdoor environmental activities concerning Energy-Climate Change- Recycling- Water and Excursions in natural protected areas in the surroundings of the organization. The tasks of volunteers will be to support local staff especially during outdoor activities involving children or adult.
Summer camps for children inside Rifugio Cave: every summer Rifugio Le Cave hosts from 3 to 5 children summer camp. During this period volunteers will be actively involved in to 2 main tasks: support to local educators (take care of children, support in games and environmental activities, trekking pathways and so on) and support to hostelling activities (preparing food, cleaning, wood breaking and so on).
International work camps usually in the province of the organization. During the Summer 3 different international work camps will take place in the Province. Every International Work camp lasts 2 weeks. The tasks of volunteers are: to carry on in cooperation with international volunteers coming from abroad (usually 10-12 volunteers every work camp) several works like: cleaning pathways or naturalistic areas, wood collecting, grass cutting.
Linguistic Tandem: Linguistic tandem is a non formal activity dealing with languages exchanges. EVS volunteers' task is to organise non formal meeting with Italian participants where they speak foreign language (usually English, French Spanish) and EVS volunteers “receive” conversations in Italian. Tandem meeting are organising in cooperation with local youth association in youth centre “Officina Giovani” or Carmignano youth centre.
Happenings and Festival: “Clean up the world”- “Energy Festival”- “Volunteering Festival”- “Festa dell' albero”. These are local happenings lasting 2 or 3 days in different periods of the year requiring help and support for their organisation.
The target group is composed of young people, older than 18 and, as indicated in the programme guide, not older than 30.
